Free (well nearly) concert tickets
Discussion
Chatting to a couple of lasses that I distantly know earlier today, they're friends of my daughter (mid/late twenties) and one of them said she was going to a concert on Friday. Told her I thought the tickets were unobtainable and she said that generally they are but she's thought of a cunning wheeze that seems to work.
She phoned O2 on the day the tickets went on sale, they were sold out in 4 seconds, to ask what the situation is for disabled people in wheelchairs. They told her they had plenty of disabled tickets available and they're free for the disabled person and each disabled person has to take a carer along and they can get in for £45 instead of the normal £80 and that's what she's doing. In my naivety I said I hadn't realised she's disabled, but she laughed sheepishly and said she's just going to borrow her granny's wheelchair for the evening.
Not sure how I feel about it. On one hand I applaud her ingenuity but on the other hand am disgusted at her taking advantage of a disabled person's "perk". Told her I'd break her leg to make it look real if she wanted.

That's the same as parking in a disabled space or pretending your kid has got cancer to get to the front of a queue for a rollercoaster. But not the same as using a disabled loo, that's alright

eta: my sister got my parents tickets to a concert for Christmas along with my (disabled) grandpa, if they went by themselves, it would have cost them twice as much as they got a free helper ticket and a disabled ticket. He loved the concert, not sure he'd like adele though

If I were her, I wouldn't have admitted that.
Then again, I don't think I would have done it. I was leafing through a copy of the Sun the other day and there was a girl who was caught and prosecuted using her late grandmother's blue badge for parking.
Her excuse was that she had used it in tribute to her grandmother
