So I bought my Wife a nice ceramic frying pan for V day.
She says everything sticks to it and not happy.

Why do they make frying pans that stick?
I've had to go and get something else now.

Something else? You mean something to replace the ungrateful wife? I approve.

Although, I might question your taste in gift giving.

She's not happy because you bought her a frying pan for valentines day. You should count yourself lucky that it didn't end up over your head.

They do make non-stick frying pans but sadly mothers day has been and gone so it's either a Birthday present or Christmas.........

You would bring Mothers and Birthdays up, I'm 4 weeks into a 5 week business trip in America and missed both of those days in March frown
She has a few breakfast in bed due over Easter.

I'd be more concerned that it's taken her over a month to actually get into the kitchen and use it.

Seriously though, Mrs T often asks for stuff like a decent set of kitchen knives (good idea for a "recommend me a...thread) or similar. Beats spunking a few hundred quid on a Michael Kors handbag I suppose and like the OP's Mrs she has got a sense of humour (please don't insert tasteless joke re the size of my manhood here. ta.)

You can say that again. I've kept her 39 years now and hope for another 39.

Don't know what she is on about as that is similar to the wok I have (stellar with the white ceramic bit) and its excellent and nothing sticks to it.

Son of a.....
She's conned me in to buying the Kitchen Aid stuff.

Actually she says it's serious bad.
Ok so, from my original post, are we (she) doing something wrong?

It seems you (or your wife) are not alone with this issue. Apparently the pans need to be virtually surgically clean to be non-sticky. You can either buy some of the cleaning gloop that manufacturers sell (Le Crueset do a swarfega type of cleaner) or mix up some bicarb into a paste and use a nylon scourer and some elbow grease.

never had to do this on the Stellar wok, though its the only one I have and the other stellar pans are all heavy ass non ceramic.
