Following on from another thread, what little things do you do that make a proportionately bigger difference to everyday life for yourself or others?
Mine include warming plates, towels and socks before use, cooling wine beer and some spirits before drinking, ironing newspapers before reading, warming up the car before setting off.

These days, I find it helpful to take a deep breath and count to ten before looking at PH.

Yes, I only read the papers on a Sunday and it has become a ritual for me that allows me to relax. A bit like a tea ceremony, I get far more out of it than just consuming the news. Really what this thread is all about for me.

Using Churches shoe cream. It just seems to be the best.

Though it makes my treacle sponge taste a bit funny.

Are you my butler? smile

On a serious note, why would you warm up a car before setting off? It takes longer to get it (and you) warm and its worse for the car. I can't see any benefits at all (unless you have a pre-heat system)

Two reasons: 1. I like getting into a nice warm car on a frosty morning so I start it up 10 minutes before I leave home.
2. I've got a very nice section of twisty road the first few miles away from my house which I like to play on. I don't like to redline the car from cold but I don't want to waste any of the twisty bits.

I feel I've just wandered in to the sheltered housing section.

My quality of life significantly improved after i started ignoring recruiters, specifically british ones (oddly we dutch IT guys get quite a bit of interest from british recruiters)

Screw those guys, never again, the only recruiter ill speak to is one working for the actual company, 3rd party ones are jackals, the lot of em

Yes, but not a lot I can do about it. I can warm up the engine fairly easily so I do.

I over ordered, somewhat, on a sock purchase 6 months or so back.

I have worn a brand new pair every day since.

I can recommend it.
