The Maths behind the game Dobble
Discussion
Kids are great aren't they! We did Roman Numerals a while back, and Gambler's Fallacy before that, now it's something different.
My daughter (7) has a card game called 'Dobble', there are 55 cards, each with eight different symbols on (not sure how many symbols all told). There is always one match of two symbols between any two cards, but never more.
My lad (10) asked me to explain the maths behind it (I changed the subject rapidly!). Having just done a quick google - woah! Can anyone put the science behind it into words my kids (and me) can comprehend!
