You any idea how pathetic you sound?

I thought this would be a tale of woe about a lost or damaged parcel. Yet the delivery company haven't done anything wrong and you're whining like a bh already.

Either purchase from companies that use DPD to deliver or arrange it with DPD yourself and pay the extra DPD charges or STFU.

DPD are very good. UPS have a system where you can pick times and stuff but I think it might be paid. I don't like UPS at the moment for attempting to deliver 3 times but not putting in a card when I wasn't home. It's not hard!

Either way I'm pretty sure DPD will have to manage less holding space for undelivered parcels which probably covered the initial cost of the timing system.

One of the companies I regularly have to us, frequently turn up the day before the email and text says. It's always worked in my favour so far, but it can be bloody annoying!

I foolishly presumed that UPS would be the pinnacle of Delivery.
Why? You already believe DPD are.

... and the Signed - For stay in all day delivery arrived.

Which has just been shoved through the letterbox without a care in the world.

UPS off my Christmas Card List.
So delivered promptly and early enough so that you don't have to stay indoors all day. What pieces of st eh!

And as for posting through a letterbox, if it fits, all couriers do this if permitted by the sender.

I hope your day hasn't been ruined by this traumatic experience.

We have DPD deliveries. No Issues.

Some wine delivered by Yodel yesterday, was dreading it.

The delivery was tracked I wasn't in but delivered to a neighbour and got a text from Yodel advising me of that fact.

All in all a safe delivery.

letting the wine settle so can't comment on the quaity yet, but thats out of Yodels control!

Can't see why you have an issue. I agree wholeheartedly with the OP. I too have had to stay in all day for a delivery that actually arrives around 17.30.
So what you (and the OP) are complaining about is a company that does exactly what it says it's going to do, but just isn't quite as good as another company.

Quite a long way from being a 'useless piece of st', then.

As in life ,you get what you pay for .
As most of the cheap courier companies just hand x number of parcels over to a sub contract driver and pay peanuts for his service ,they expect the guy to deliver in an area he probably has little knowledge of ,so he will spend the day going around in circles .
The better companies have software to organise routes and electronic hand scanners programmed with the route and these also track the parcel and the vehicle.
These systems aint cheap !
Most problems are caused by sub contractors paid sometimes as little as 75p per parcel .

And to balance things out, I had a parcel delivered recently by Yodel and I was able to track the van via GPS and trhey were within minutes of the estimated delivery time too. My kids think Im omnipotent now as I told them the delivery van would be coming around the corner ... and it did. Im not doing anything to deny it , if they think I can see things that are out of sight maybe they will behave hehe

DPD are great, but I'm a big fan of Royal Mail/Parcelforce. Much easier to pick up a parcel from the local post office than to hang around waiting for a delivery. Although slightly more hassle when the wife hasn't updated her details with a company she's bought some stuff for and it's still in her maiden name, so bit trickier for me to pick up rolleyes

I have found TNT and DHL to be pretty good of late. I sent a fairly bulky item to Italy (toilet seat - don't ask!!) and it was there within 48 hours (TNT) and did not even pay for express etc.

Yet in the UK it takes Yodel 12 days to deliver a small box of screws.

Hey ho. First world problems bla.
