If PHers could excuse this worse "I've driven Ferraris, Porsches and racing cars round tracks" thread ever I'll continue.

I have had the good fortune to have driven a Porsche 996, Ferrari 355, Lotus Exige S1 and Caterham 7 round race tracks. I've also driven Formula Fords and Renaults on tracks, a rally prepared MKII Escort and Subaru Imprezza down a special stage and Quads, tanks and Land Rover Discoveries round off-road courses that consisted of near cliff-like descents, see-saws and deep standing water.

In addition I have had the pleasure of experiencing shooting bales of hay with arrows and crossbow bolts, clay discs with shotguns and human targets eek with paintballs biggrin . If I wasn't st-scared of heights I could also have experience a ride in a hot air balloon.

All of the above were financed by powerfully built directors in return for myself, colleagues and staff achieving various financial and productivity targets. Sadly, and as the observant paying attention to the car models mentioned will testify to, said activities occurred some time ago. These days there isn't even a decent buffet at a training course or works meeting. The closest thing I get to a work's jolly in recent times is conning my way out the office to drop off an "urgent" consignment of materials or plant to site in either a Mitusbishi L200 Pick Up or Citroen Nemo van.

Who else benefited from the Work's Jolly heyday and who's still lucky enough to enjoy them? Will also be interesting to see who's was the most spectacular.

Yours will take some beating tbh, TBH.

Havent had any good driving jollies.

Had a week on a crewed yacht, a bermudan rigged ketch if that means anything to anyone, in the South China Sea.

Three weeks on a cruise from Sydney to Tonga and back via New Zealand.

Plastic surgery for the missus, not tits unfortunately, just ears, dont laugh.

Christmas for the family at a Hotel in Scotland, never got walmer than -11C all the time we were there.

Took part in a boat race with J class yachts on the Solent, a totally wind less day so it took bloody hours.

Couple of days out at Millbrook and Silverstone drove a couple of laps in all sorts of stuff but my favourite was a Fiesta RS1800.

An insurance company, better not say their name, but not English flew us to Frankfurt, and gave a cracking party hosted by hookers, or so I was told on the way back.

With the current work, not much PH type, but have been to Dublin, Copenhagen, Budapest, London and Edinburgh (private train this one, buses/planes the others); missed out on Amsterdam and Liverpool, and also had days at Alton Towers and Ironbridge Gorge. All on Whit bank holidays with the other half.

Before I joined they did Jersey and somewhere in Spain.

Jollies in Dubrovnik this year.

Normally 4 star hotels and all food and drinks during the day.

Apart from the works Xmas do which I avoid like the plague, a trip to Pizza Hut about 10 years ago.

And a 'credit crunch lunch' at a Wetherspoons about 8 years ago.

They're a generous lot.

Get to drive a wide range of cars as fast as they'll go on proving grounds and race tracks. Not really a jolly though, it's part of my job.

We get to go on a training week in Califonia, usually about once a year. They are pretty intense by all accounts but the weekend is usually a trip somewhere nice and a piss up!

Similar to the OP the best jollies paid for by work are now some time ago. Probably 2005 and 2006 I think. The best, back when I was a marketing assistant, involved taking a couple of yachts out over to Cowes. Good times! Since the. The only really good stuff has been paid for by other firms. Usually investment banks. Some colleagues went on a PalmerSport day, which was wasted on them!

Apart from some great works dos - one place used to take 500+ people away for the weekend, Brussels, Lyon etc I guess the best used to be the F1 testing days at silverstone.

In the last 5 years I've had:

- A PalmerSport day for the whole department
- Trip to the Hungarian Grand Prix
- Countless 'teambuilding' activities involving taking over a hotel for several days with free bars.
- Whole department trips to Barcelona and Germany.

I worked for Ansett Australia back in 2000.
Got invited to a "sales meeting" in Bussellton, which is a couple of hours south of Perth.
Only work was a 10 minute presentation, the rest of the 4 days was spent on the beach and drinking, before flying to Sydney for the remainder of the week, them home.

A few mid tour, and end of tour parties when i was driving the wagons. Normally at the gig after a show, a good band would throw a party and lay on all the food, drink, and entertainment products. Some would stay and mingle, others wouldn't even bother turning up, but they were normally always a mad and free night out music

That ended well.

I've managed to blag clay pigeon shooting a couple of times which proved far more entertaining than I was expecting.

More relevant to PH is a trip to Silverstone for the superbikes, then again for Touring cars. A few trips to Gloucester airport for evenings of hooning some new Mercedes around until we ran out of tyres/fuel. I managed a few passenger rides with Alastair Moffatt who apart from being outstanding , record breaking in fact at handbrake turn parking is also rather good at drifting S-class Mercshehe

Finally not so much a work jolly but a special gift received from a work contact a signed Arsenal shirt from the 2003 "invincibles" squad!!!

Loved it. A few mates have got really into it but, fk me, it's an expensive hobby.

Really? I guess it's all relative but at £30.00 for a couple of rounds a month and a few hundred quid for a cheap gun it's not expensive, of course if you go every day.... And as with everything you can spend a fortune if you want to, but it's not essential.

Once got offered a really good one.

Trip to Vegas, stay at the Bellagio, VIP weekend passes to the Nascar, pit passes included, all food & drink.

The offer came in about 30 minutes after I promised my youngest daughter that I would definitely be flying home at the weekend and would be seeing her in the school play on the Monday night.
