Over the years we've accumulated probably 50 or 60 bottles of drinks we never drink, think Grandma's tipple crossed with random spirits , Ricard , Cinzano, Brandy, Ginger Wine, weird whiskies etc

Any bright ideas as to where I can usefully donate them without encouraging pisshead behaviour?

Thank you PH

For the unopened ones, then local PTA for school (adult) summer raffle? Local WI for the same?

I'd happily take the whisky, make a donation to charity for a bit of good will and pay postage - selfless I know.

I think at least one bottle of whisky was brought to a party 15 years ago by a friend of a friend who drank 3 shots and projectile vomited over the BBQ.

We've left it aside as reminder of the evils of strong drink...plus it looks as if could be a Londis own brand or similar.

Not worth the postage in other words

Seriously? I'm pretty sure our PTA single-handedly keep most of the local pubs in business!

My in-laws had an annual family BBQ (until they moved abroad) which always ended with a surplus of excess random booze thrown into the summer house. I seem to have inherited a lot of it. It's all obscure garbage that I'll never ever use and is still sat in a cupboard.

Keep it until you have teenagers, it will start to slowly get rid of itself.

If there are quality whiskys in there surely it shouldnt be hard to find a mate/familymember who has interest?

If the bottles are still sealed, sell em (at a good price) to a local pub? donate the money to a charity if you feel it must have positive impact

Google what cocktails you can make with the spirits you've got and give them a go the next time you have a party or need to obliterate the voices; as a bonus you can pretend to be Tom Cruise before he was a complete tt.

Own brand whiskys can be quite surprisingly good, and even the bad ones are usually pretty good for cooking with. Having said that you're probably right that it's not worth the postage.

Don't give it away. That drink could become the lifeline someone doesn't need in their life right now - they could become hooked and subsequently join AA (not 'the AA').

Your best bet is to throw it down the sink.
