Bit of a long shot and not entirely sure where to post but....
Has anyone near Winchester/Basingstoke got a classic Silver Cross coach-built pram they'd be willing to lend/hire/swap for beer over the weekend of June 11/12 please?
It's to convey CK Jnr in a genteel and befitting manner for something we're attending, not racing, rallying or Red Bull events.
Much apprecIated if anyone can help.
Hiring doesn't appear to be an option for less than a month.

my parents did (they hoarded it in the loft for years hoping we'd take advantage of it but its way too cumbersome for day to day use).
I'd ask if they still have it but they're on hols at the moment

Tried (although refuse to grace Mumsnet on principle)
Seems very few people own them any more as they're too big, too impractical and too costly.

My parents had one in their loft when baby_t was born a couple of years ago. Will have a look tonight to see if they still have it (in Southampton too, so not too far!)

I was surprised to see a mum pushing one, yes a proper Silver Cross pram, a few weeks ago. I thought they were extinct and everyone had buggies with strange names like bugaboo.

Silver Cross always were the top of the range prams so I felt it was completely incongrous when Tony Robinson parked a vintage model outside a row of 'wartime' terrace houses and proceeded to simulate the effects of bombs dropping nearby for a Channel 4 programme. Way beyond the finances of the average family of the day.

the last one I saw in use, did have a baby in it, but it belonged to the young lady operating the fairground rides at the local village show !

My dad still has mine in the attic (I'm 33)

Its burgundy, but its pretty old. You'd need to get a new mattress I guess, I wasn't keen on putting my kid on it when he was born, so didn't use it.

Its in Southampton.

Might be able to convince him to loan it out, if it was going to return. He's a sentimental old fool.

I have one - we've used it for both our boys, youngest is now 1 and no logner using it - you're welcome to a loan, although we're in the scottish borders so probably not much use to you ...

Definitely will be returning it.
Is it fit/safe/healthy enough to convey a ten month old?

When I told her you'd suggested it she said "Not that unfunny again! fk right off!" and slammed the phone down.

Sorry bud, they gave it away to a family friend when we didn't want it. Good luck though!
