I know I'll probably have to live with this....

Buyer says item damaged on delivery. Low value. I say no problem send me a picture of the damage and I'll refund you.

Buyer gets all stroppy saying he doesn't know how to send pictures ! I do him a guide... Still insists he can't do it and knows no one who can help.

Then gets abusive pretty much saying he is going to leave poor feedback.. I'm not a business seller but I do have really excellent feedback...

It grates a bit that he's essentially trying to extort a refund with the threat of the feedback... If he does pull the trigger is their anything I can do ?

It's a discredited system, the odd idiot feedback is expected & ignored by all. I think you can leave a visible reply to the clown.

I have 100% feedback since 2004, I used to care 100% about retaining it, now I care 80%, the reason is I never look at feedback when buying, most have a high sell/buy score now anyway.

Take the chance he will leave the neg feedback and don't refund him if he can't prove damage, or better still ask him to return item for a refund if that what he wants.

The negative effect on your % only lasts 12mths any ways ... Def sounds like they're pulling a fast one if not prepared to offer evidence

Yep, I would stick with: send a photo and I'll refund you, or return it to me and I'll refund you.

if you have proof in the ebay messsages that he's threatening you with it , then theres a chance ebay will remove it if you offered to resolve it with him

Ebay is a rogues and chancers playground , they side with and refund dodgy buyers regardless of facts ...
the rot started when they stopped sellers leaving negative feedback when faced with a wker..
its been downhill ever since , I have loads of stuff I would like to sell but its not worth the risk anymore..

You should ask him to return it to you for a refund, and return post will be at his cost. If he contacts ebay about it, that's what they'll tell him to do. There's no need to refund without a return. He'll aslo need to send it tracked so he can demonstrate delivery.

Are you sure about that? If he was returning because he didn't like it then that's how it works, but if he has been sent faulty goods, or if it arrives damaged for whatever reason, then I'm pretty sure it's the seller's responsibility.

Yep Sold a new pair of Armani Jeans the other month, did not fit the buyer who unpicked the seams & claimed they were fake using some 'how to spot fake Armani guide ' off the internet. I countered with a copy of the purchase receipt & pointed to the pictures in the listing that showed the seams were fine where they were now 'coming undone'

Ebay/PAYPAL still refunded they buyer who kept the goods too!. Lucky I have more than 1 PAYPAL & ebay account. They are now threatening to take me to court to recover the money. Can't wait to see how this goes down if they are stupid enough to try it

Only true in part. If the buyer uses an Ebay postage label you get billed for the return cost too ontop of the refund for the goods & the initial postage paid + you don't get your FVC if the refund is granted as a result of a dispute where Ebay arbitrate (if you can call it that) and find in favour of the buyer. The service has to be 'trackable' & the refund is triggered automatically when it shows as delivered or attempted to deliver.

A chancer failed to show up on a couple of occasions to collect some unpaid for wheels, so I cancelled the deal and relisted.

He gave me a right slagging off on ebay. I was livid (still am when I think of it) but it's soon forgotten.
