I live in a "Coach house" where the other 3 garages and driveway in front belongs to the house to left and right of me.

I was cleaning both my S2000 and Custom today which where very dirty!

And one of the neighbours (jokingly) shouted, "dont get any of that dirty water on my drive"

Obviously water will run onto the other driveways.

Incase i have not explained well, this is the layout:

It got me thinking am i in the wrong letting water run onto someone else's drive?

So is it acceptable to wash a car on a drive in this setup, or should i do it on the road?

I'd say washing the car is acceptable, but leaving any mess on the shared driveway would not be. Therefore, I would ensure that I rinsed off any dirt or debris from the drive once the washing was finished.

It's fine. Don't worry about it.

This.

Just simple good manners.

We live in the UK, the rain will wash most things off the drive pretty quickly anyway. Just don't get oil etc on there and it will be fine.

Yup, as above, just clean away the dirty/soapy water afterwards.

No, don't.

You'll blow the sand out of the paving joints.

I do mine on the road. No point in messing up your own drive.

Me too, or at least clean the wheels and rinse off before it goes back on the drive, the brake dust and water mix will definitely leave marks on the drive.

Is that an incomplete development with the c/w having not been topped off or do you really have such a high and harsh kerb onto your driveway?

I don't even understand the house. Is that the back or something? Where is the living room etc?

I agree. However, the drive in the photo is 'crete-print'. wink

Is the entire house not above the garages? I.e., a big flat?

The coach goes in the front, the horses around the back and the staff can sleep in the hay in the roof.

OP don't overthink it, he was making small talk.

I'd like to know if you can get your car in the garage and open the car door?

I'm a bit nosey and like to go off to inspect the new builds by me and not once in 10 years would I bed able to get the car in the garage and open the door, no idea why they keep building them.

Given your neighbour shouted the comment "jokingly", I'm sure you'll be okay.

Excellent, good to see I'm in the right for once!!

As for the house, its 1 2 bed apartment above 4 garages, the first 2 garages go with the house to the left, and the last goes to the house on the right.

And yes i hope there is a bit more tarmac to go down, as its quite a lip!

I can just ( im quite slim), however its much easier with the roof off.

Length way no problems, there is room for some racking at the back, a roller tool cabinet, with plenty of room for my S2000.
Its just the width thats a bit tight!
