I am looking to purchase a Laser Engraver from China, its going to cost £1500 delivered to my door, this includes all fees and taxes, also delivery.
They seem to be the same machine, sold by loads of different agents.
I have done my research, I know quality and after sales is sketchy, but at this price, it's a chance I'm willing to take on the machine.
My question, and more worry is, which company would you rather deal with to try and get the seller to play by the rules, if something needed to be rectified.
Amazon, or Ebay, which do you think would be the better choice.
Ebay is payment by paypal
Amazon is payment by credit card.
It's not Amazon prime delivery, the Chinese company has an agent in Germany, And UK,why there is no import duties from China.
Amazon machine is also £150 more expensive.
What would be your thoughts..Thanks Steve..

Personally, I'd go with Amazon. Their returns process is painless and sensible, their customer service is excellent and if you want a refund, they just get on with the job and sort it for you. I've not experienced similar customer service with eBay, let's say.

Up to you though. Other suppliers are available, and all that. smile

It'd be Amazon for me..having worked somewhere that sold goods via the Amazon "Marketplace" a few years back they have a fairly ruthless approach when dealing with sellers who aren't meeting their standards service-wise so assuming that is still the case that would give me much more confidence as a buyer, especially on a large ticket purchase.

Only pay the extra £150 if it's actually Amazon selling it, if it's a marketplace vendor I don't think you get as much assistance from them if there's any issue.

I wouldn't do it personally for such a big outlay but if I was gambling it would be Amazon over ebay any day.

They hold enough sway in most cases.

We sell alot on Amazon and have great customer service anyway, but with the "Sword of Damocles" hanging over you if you don't deal with problems immediately and fully, you will find Amazon Vendors very responsive.

it's no less likely to go tits with amazon, but they are more likely to step in and assist when if it happens.

Amazon via credit card every time. You have zero S75 protection if you pay using a credit card via Paypal.
