Amazon Prime - Any Catch?
Discussion
I'm sick of living in a town where I can buy nothing I want, as in going into town with the most mundane of shopping lists today I've come back empty handed because either nowhere sells the stuff, they do but have no stock, or they do but are more expensive than buying online.
Amazon Prime appears to be the answer to a lot of this as we all know one of the things that puts you (well it does me) off buying a £10 item online is £3 p&p whilst I think that having unlimited "free" P&P would be a big benefit - assuming I've understood correctly and it really is free standard delivery regardless, and expedited delivery on stuff that shows as eligible for Prime?
The media stuff seems a bonus that I'd probably look at down the line.
What am I missing?

Get a free months trial and see if it works for you.Amazon Prime appears to be the answer to a lot of this as we all know one of the things that puts you (well it does me) off buying a £10 item online is £3 p&p whilst I think that having unlimited "free" P&P would be a big benefit - assuming I've understood correctly and it really is free standard delivery regardless, and expedited delivery on stuff that shows as eligible for Prime?

I use it, it is really handy knowing that if you order something it will definitely arrive the next day.

And if it doesn't arrive the next day as promised, you just contact them and they give you a month's free Prime membership.I use it, it is really handy knowing that if you order something it will definitely arrive the next day.
I resisted Prime initially, but now I have it I wouldn't be without it. It's much simpler than having to go into town for things I need. The only downside is that I end up buying stuff I don't necessarily need because it's so easy to just place the orders.

If you buy something from an Amazon seller who doesn't offer Prime. But they always tell you if you'll end up paying delivery charges, so you can change your mind. Sometimes items are slightly cheaper from suppliers that don't use Prime.grumbledoak said:
I don't think I ever pay delivery charges. I don't get the free eBooks I was hoping for because I use a software kindle, but it's still worth it.
This is where I'm getting confused, whether Prime only applies to things that show under "Prime" when you look under "Delivery Options" down the left, or if it's still free delivery on everything even if it's regular delivery and you have to wait a few days

Some things are free delivery without Prime, others aren't. You just have to check when you place the order. Prime stuff is always free delivery, as far as I recall.

I don't think I've ever wanted anything that wasn't available Prime.

Ive had Prime for 10+ years, its great being able to order anything when you think of it, nearly always get free next day delivery and know you're getting an ultra reliable service. Why spend 60 mins driving, parking, shopping and driving home for a piddly little item when you can order and have it arrive next day. Last mundane item I ordered was a lightbulb! Prime items are often the same price or slightly more expensive than items not on Prime but its worth the (very slight) extra to know itll arrive next (working) day. More often than not Primes cheapest anyway. Ive been using Amazon since 2002, love it.
Prime is a game changer for us. It' makes it effortless to look after the house & family.
We use if for 90% + of all of our non grocery spends. Kids school shorts to sieves to lawn mower parts.
I only ever go to town to go to the bakery. Because I'm a chunk a lunk.
They also have Prime video & music which seem perfectly good. But I'm Spotify / Netflix and too old to accept change.

Also, they deliver next day Saturday and Sunday and their returns policy is second to none. I've had returns refunded same day I've dropped them off at the Post Office
Downside is you end up buying lots of stuff you probably wouldn't bother buying if you had to go to the shops to get it. Or maybe that's just me
