...Is the water that collects in the tank of a dehumidifier drinkable?

I'm using on at the moment after a water leak in a bathroom.

Is the water that's collected purified?

I'm not intending to drink it and the leak was from clean water but if it was dirty water being absorbed by the machine would the process purify it?

As I say, probably a stupid question. Just idle curiosity.

I'd suggest you take the piss, but that would open up the obvious question about a dehumidifier turning wee to water.

If the machine and collector are clean I can't see a reason why not.

Its distilled water, without the boiling process.

Well big air conditioners can tend to have legionnaires disease..

but shouldnt be a problem, just boil it first.

As above its just condensation (water) however its been condensed on coils that have been damp for a long period, and possibly never been cleaned.

It is an exaggerated form of the condensation on the outside of you beer mug on a hot summer day, yes, I would say it is drinkable, but it has had a load of dusty air blown over the top of it, it has been collecting on aluminum, it has been dripping down pipes that have not been cleaned since..

Drink it before you drink sea water, but not by much!

It's drinkable in exactly the same way this old lady drank some water, but not a good idea if you have a choice
