Random act of kindness

What an interesting/ amazing/ brilliant thing just happened to me....
Nipped to the bank, to cash a cheque (who still send cheques?!) just now. Pissing down with rain, parked up in the car park, ran to the machine, no change. f
k.
Saw a couple leaving, popped over to ask them nicely if they had any time left on their ticket, since i only needed 5 minutes. The younger lady points out her mum is disabled and they were using their blue badge to park, so sadly don't have a ticket. I was just heading off to move the car or figure out my next move, when the older disabled lady grabs my arm, reaches into her purse, and gives me the 50p I need for the parking machine. I tried to protest, she refused and insisted I have it. Thing is, they were climbing into a beat up old car, in a crappy and impoverished town that we live in, i'm assuming she barely had a penny to rub together, in her purse, all i could see were a few coins, no notes etc...
What a nice thing for someone to do, especially when, on the face of it at least she appears to have very little. I'm now regretting that i didn't go and speak with her, find our about her situation, maybe even what she's suffering from, so I could make a nice donation to a relevant charity, kind of like trying to implement my own form of karma.
What a nice thing to happen in the current climate of nothing but dread in the news and amongst videos of casual racism on social media. Restored my faith in humanity for a short period at least.
Yeh yeh, I know, cool story bro etc, but i felt the need to post, can't explain it....

You should have exchanged one of your notes with the woman in exchange for the needed coin.
Believe it or not, i had NO cash whatsoever (although i could have swore i had a tenner). And before anyone says "why are you going to the car park without cash in the first place", the car park is only 50% pay and display, the other 50% is free spaces, mainly full by the time the workers have all got to the shops etc, but often you can find a free space or catch someone just leaving, i'd had no such luck today....Had this happen a few times, a few weeks ago quite a fit young lady gave me a quid for parking when I got to the machine and realised I had no change!!
Last friday I was in a multistory pay on foot, went to pay and found a paid ticket hanging out the machine , cost them a fiver and they left it in the machine!! Waited around 5 minutes to see if they came back, nope! Then saw a car stuck at the barrier describing how they lost their ticket and being told it would cost them £25!! I walked over and asked "guess this is yours then" they were pretty happy!!
I find what goes around comes around, if you are nice enough, people are nice back , done loadsa good deeds over the years and had loads done back.

Random acts of parking kindness?
Had to do a survey (2 hrs) in a road with a strict 1 hr parking limit this week.
Asked a neighbour where I could park for free nearby and she gave me a visitor's permit for the whole day (the house I went to see was empty).
Made my job so much easier. Thank you so much whoever you were.

Similar thing happened to me in Alicante a couple of years ago. I didn't have any small change for a car park and asked an older Spanish couple walking past, who insisted on giving me the car park fee as they didn't have enough change for the 10 euro note I had.Nipped to the bank, to cash a cheque (who still send cheques?!) just now. My parking tale was early one morning at our local hospital. I had the change, but the pound coin would not go in. I had no other change.
I recalled reading what was probably an old wives tale about putting the coin in your mouth then trying again, so I did just that. Tried again, still nothing.
At this point I noticed a rather attractive bloke behind me, I assumed from his attire he was a Junior Dr, either way he was VERY nice indeed.
I repeated my coin in mouth trick, only for it to fail again. Dr then reaches in his pocket and hands me a non salivery £1 coin in exchange for my slobbery one. I made an attempt to dry it on my jacket and handed it over. So embarrassing. I smiled and scuttled off very quickly.
These days I pay on card at the hospital.
