I ordered some new bulbs yesterday on Prime, and was surprised to see that they are out for delivery today (Sunday), through Amazon Logistics. Do they have their own courier now or something? Pretty impressed that they deliver for free on a Sunday.

Yes, but only sometimes. I still get parcels via Royal Mail and "Sorry I missed you" notes from Hermes.

Most of my Amazon stuff is delivered by APLE when it says Amazon Logistics.

I get a variety of different delivery companies - and they all ignore my instructions for my 'safe place'. Last week was Amazon logistics who left it in front of my front door, in full view of the road.

I'm going to start getting stuff delivered to a drop off point. Amazon is brilliant. Amazon deliveries are beyond useless.

They bought Yodel. Different name, same level of service. A neighbours parcel was chucked over my fence only this week. rofl

Ah, that explains things. Like the parcel returned to Amazon because they couldn't find my address. Unlike the other two Amazon parcels delivered the same week.

No they didn't

They have been using their own logistics company for a while now but still use pretty much every other company still for a lot of stuff. Their own logistics company isn't actually Amazon Logistics but a number of smaller companies that operate under the name Amazon Logistics and keep some popular Amazon products at their warehouses for immediate delivery. Minimum wage mainly Eastern European drivers who will do 200 parcels a day literally house to house

Next day (premium) has been DPD for me recently who are excellent for every delivery they have done so far.

Hermes are the worst for me, even worse than Yodel.

I was looking forward to my first delivery by drone from Amazon but if it's the same muppets from Yodel they'll probably smash it through my front window instead

They'd miss and put it through your neighbours window and then claim it was yours.

Here in Canada, they seem to do a half decent job, I ordered a DVD(yes I still do this), and a bluetooth transmitter, I opted for the free shipping as I am in no hurry....

less than 24hrs, slightly impressed by this!

My son has been getting things delivered within 2 hours with Amazon prime , first one came in a brown bag early evening , I told the guy he had the wrong house as we hadn't ordered a takeaway as that's what it looked like

I've no idea how they're making money on delivery in 2 hours at no extra cost

Volume. If they're selling enough to need full a delivery run every few hours, it makes not difference whether they do that same day or a few days later.

At my business address at least one of us has an Amazon Prime delivery pretty much every day. The vast majority of items dispatched by Amazon themselves (unless they're very large) are now coming with Amazon Logistics. No complaints here.

All the comments about the service being similar to Yodel is complete rubbish. You've probably just got a bad driver or it wasn't Amazon doing the delivery.

I've had things delivered to me all over Surrey - EVERYTHING comes next day even if you don't pay for it IF it's directly supplied by Amazon. It comes in their plain white vans with mostly eastern europeans driving.. I remember one time I had quite a large box being delivered. I was out, thinking they wouldn't turn up this early, they did. Had a missed call on my mobile to say where are you? I explained and he told me to go home as he was coming back. They met me at home and re-delivered.

I've never had an Amazon delivery go missing that was directly supplied by Amazon. If it goes through a seller on there and comes via normal post thats different. The after 6PM service is also amazing.

The only gripe I have is 'Add-On' items. I wish there was a way to buy those without having to spend £20 on normal stuff.

I'd guess you've been buying stuff not fulfilled by Amazon?
