So... I fancied a 'cafe racer' style leather biker jacket, and I couldn't really find one I liked in the shops, but found one on the internet that looked good.

I ordered and it duly arrived. The good news is that it's a perfect fit, and is nice soft leather, the bad news is that the colour is NOTHING like the photo! It's supposed to be a distressed looking dark brown, but in reality it's a bright tan red colour that makes it look very similar to the jacket worn by Michael Jackson in his 'Thriller' video.

I complained to the seller and he just refunded me without asking for the jacket back, which is bizarre, but there you go. So, I now have a free jacket and nothing to lose by trying to apply some colouring.

Any suggestions on leather products I could try on it to change the colour?

Crash your bike into a dirt field while wearing the jacket.

Just Google leather dye. I've used this in past for shoes, car seats and even to change some red and white Honda biker gloves to black.

You need to do the prep properly and achieve even coverage. For larger areas, I sprayed it using a modeller's airbrush. But wear latex gloves, it works well on human hide!

Hope it still exists.

Having sold all my bikes a couple of years ago, I only have my 1986 Honda Z50R left, which I will never sell, and I'm not sure crashing it flat out at 35mph would yield enough dirt ingress...

If he refunded the money without wanting the jacket back it's probably been stolen. Hand it in and tell them where you got it from.

Hello there officer, I would hereby like to hand in this here jacket from the internet. Yes, it is a bit Shamon! but I feel it is my moral duty to hand it in as I received a refund from the seller.

Virtue signalling bks.

Virtue signalling? If drawing attention to a potential thief is morally offensive for you I have a question -

Can I have my leather jacket back that you stole in 1987 please?

No, I did it for your own good. You looked like a camp Nazi with the jacket and that moustache. biggrin
