It's a bit ghoulish, but I was prompted by the Diana thread to start this.

What happens to, or indeed what happened to objects involved in infamous or high profile incidents?

Diana's Mercedes? Bits of 911 jets? The 7/7 tube and busses? The Tory politicians car Aery (SP.) Neave that was blown up at Westminster? The Air France Concorde?

I know the Lockerbie jet is in a scrap compound in Lincolnshire. The Herald of Free Enterprise was broken-up. JFKs Limo went back into service, this time with a roof and I guess bullet proof glass.

A while back, I discovered a police force had kept the smashed back light of a Jag implicated in a 1960s gangland murder.

Any others?

Not cars but there's a thing called the 'Black Museum' at Scotland Yard. Normally only open to service police officers I believe, there was an exhibition at the London museum last year. Gun that Rith Ellis used, some of the Krays weapons, couple of mortars the IRA used to attack number 10 and that sort of stuff. Pretty interesting although the things on your list would be amazing to see

Sometimes they're put back on the road - wasn't the Range Rover used in the triple murder in Rettendon put back on the road? F424 NPE, wasn't it?

Bonnie and Clyde's car is in a museum, I'm nearly sure. Isn't Archduke Franz Ferdinand's as well?

Bonnie & Clyde's car is on display somewhere near vegas, the same place has what is allegedly one of Al Capone's cars too.

I've read that the FW16 that Senna had his fatal accident in was eventually released to Williams by the Italian authorities, smashed in to lots of bits and buried. No idea if its true though.

"The Tory politicians car Aery (SP.) Neave "

You are already on the internet, how much longer would it have taken you to find out how to spell Airey Neave's name?

I think that used to be in the Harrahs Car Museum in Reno.

Unforgivable and all I can do is say sorry. In my defence, I am on my 'phone and swapping between web pages for some reason screws up PH posts. Like double posts that happen with my phone. The fact that I queried my own spelling clearly indicated my doubt but did not full explain my lack of research prior to posting.

If I caused you offence Simon I didn't mean to.

Are you able to enlighten us as to what happened to the car?

Apparently the SAS have a great trophy room with souvenirs from their past missions. Unfortunately, it's not open to the public.

Read that just a few days ago on here.

Location only known to Frank and Clare Williams and Patrick Head.

If true.

Same place as Frank William's old Sierra?

Apologies for my arseyness, hadn't considered that you were using a phone and that it's difficult.

As to Airey Neave's car, one would imagine that they scrutinised it for evidence, and once they'd got everything that they needed for the investigation, it was scrapped.

There's a section of the steel work from the twin towers at Duxford. I wasn't expecting to see it there and it stopped me in my tracks when I realised what it was, very sobering.

Saw a much larger piece from the top of one of the towers at the Newseum in Washington DC, very shocking

Last time I heard Diana's Merc was in a storage container, waiting for its fate to be decided via the courts. Mercedes want it crushed, the Fake Sheik wants it to go on display.

The story I heard from a usually reliable source is that Sennas car was totally destroyed and the remains (ashes & dust basically) given to the Senna family.
