Hoping for a little advice.

Earlier today I bid on and won a pair of trainers on ebay. Winning bid was £59 quid plus £9 postage.

However, when I went online to pay, less than 30 minutes after winning, I was greeted with the following message.

We want to let you know that ************* cancelled your order and mentioned the reason as The buyer asked to cancel the order or there's an issue with the buyer's address.

Keep in mind that an unpaid item can be recorded on your account and result in future restrictions to your account.

You don't need to do anything else.

Now I obviously didn't cancel or want to cancel the order and my address details have been fine for the last 10 years and 200 ebay transactions that this also shouldn't be a problem.

As I see it, the seller listed these trainers (which were only released in limited numbers on Friday / Saturday last week at around £90 a pair) and hasn't reached what he was hoping for with them, hence him cancelling, probably to relist.

Is there anything I can do? Any opinions on next steps? Never had any ebay problems before so new to this!

There should be an option to raise this for resolution with eBay. The seller would presumably need to prove that you contacted him, which he can't.

Seller wanted to cancel the transaction and just a picked a reason from the drop down list eBay give.

You can kick up a fuss with eBay but realistically eBay can't make them send the trainers. I would just move on and forget it.

Well, the OP can always try to sue for breach of contract and demand specific performance, although the costs of such action would surely outweigh the loss of bargain in not getting the discount trainers.

Move on would be my advice as well.

Exactly, no for Adidas Samba Livestocks, I bagged myself a pair on release, only for the wife to chip in after and say she wouldnt mind a pair. Sold out everywhere so went to ebay. I would have happily paid more, original selling price if needed, however, not prepared to pay the 120 plus others on ebay are going for.

Will be looking, but as above, not prepared to pay what some are asking. No way to leave negative feedback.

I will be doing, however, the tone of the received email annoyed me a little, the line about non payment, restrictions on your account..... Hang on, none of this is my fault!

Just report him to ebay and make it clear to them you intended to pay but seller cancelled the sale and you do not want any restrictions placed on your account as the result.

Can't leave feedback? That's ridiculous!

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/cancel-transacti...

Says "If you cancel a transaction, the buyer can still leave you negative or neutral Feedback about the transaction."

Just when you think eBay can't get any worse!

Just move on - sadly eBay is now guff

You could if you were vindictive, bid 999 on them when they are re listed, then select some reason why you don't want them!

eBay is a big pile of balls now. 10 years or so I made a nice profit taking bits from the local scrap yard and selling them on eBay. Now if I tried it I would get messed around on 50% of sales
