Had a haunted office a few years back , started off with the fax machine talking to me , then escalated to the neighboring office dwellers seeing "things" etc in the room with me whilst I was totally unaware . Used to work late into the evenings on my own in the building which could be unnerving at times when the voices started . No , the voices weren't in my head before anyone suggests it . Thankfully moved on since then

What did the fax machine say to you and what did the people see in your office?

I was working away about ten years ago in Westbury (Wilts.), and came home at 6am from a nightshift in the morning and let myself into the small hotel I was staying in.

There was no one on reception at that time, so they gave me a key for the main entrance. I walked in and passed a doorway through to the bar area on my left. I casually looked in as I passed and saw the very distinctive silhouette of a woman stood by the fireplace. I could see the long straggling hair and the outline of her dress.

I went to bed and when I came back down at lunchtime, I told the barmaid what I'd seen. "Oh yes, it's haunted" she said, and "it's interesting you've seen her as she hasn't been seen for a while". Apparently she has always been seen early in the morning in the past.

The next few I have mentioned in other threads.

1) I heard a dog climb the stairs and walk across the landing when I was in bed one morning. I thought it was my own dog which I had earlier shut in the dining room. First of all I wondered how he had managed to get out of the dining room, but called out to him anyway, as the bedroom door just pushed open, no latch on it. He didn't come in though. I went downstairs a bit later on and he was still shut in the dining room.

My mate owned the house before me, and he said he had human footsteps climbing the stairs and then walking across the landing to the bedroom door, then nothing. He had leapt out of bed and opened the door to find nobody there.

2) Present house. I had something blow on my elbow one night. It made me jump, but I managed to control myself and held my arm out (had a t shirt on) and asked for a repeat. I got another blow to my elbow, this time more focused and longer, about 5 seconds long to be exact.

3) Present house. White noise from a dab radio, like static. I was walking past it when it happened. I stopped and asked for a repeat and it happened again. It was plugged in, but not switched on.

4) Present house. I brought a few mates round for a drink. We had just walked in through the front door and into the kitchen area. We had just switched the lights on when there was a loud crash from upstairs, like a shelf full of stuff falling down. I went upstairs to check everything, but all was fine.

5) People really struggle with this one. I had been talking to my mates in the pub about these goings on at my house when one turned on me a bit, and said I was losing it. I calmly argued back that I was only telling the truth about what I had experienced, and it was at this point I felt what felt like two hands under my armpits supporting me from behind. People will shoot me down for saying this, but I don't care, I know what I felt (I'd only just taken the top off my first pint at this point too).

My arsy mate had had a few and put his empty pint down, his last one and said that he was going. As he left, the supports from behind faded away. It was an amazing experience tbh.

Went with my sister in law to a pub in Derbyshire for lunch, she went upstairs for a pee. Whilst she was washing her hands she was approached by a girl around 8 years old. The girl said that her father was the landlord and they chatted. Sister in law came downstairs, said to the landlord that she had met his daughter. He said that that would be difficult, she was in Edinburgh. "What was the girl wearing?" "A long brown dress".

She had seen Mary, a girl who lived at the pub in the early 1800s.

My sister saw an old woman walk into my bedroom one Sunday morning when she was about 4. I hadn't been told about this until we'd moved house, did make me wonder if I'd seen the same thing when I woke up one night and saw what looked like an old woman at the end of my bed. I was half asleep though so always discounted it to myself in all honesty.

My grandparents used to own a pub, they'd had a couple of different friends mention seeing a man sat in the corner of the bar in what looked like an army uniform when the pub was shut, both guard dogs they had I knew of used to growl at the same spot randomly. It was a very old building with a lot of stories though.

The wife and I stayed in Hazelwood castle one night and I was half-woken by someone singing nursery rhymes and assumed it was the wife.
When I asked her in the morning, she said it wasn't her.

Turns out part of the hotel was used as a maternity hospital 1939

hehe

Nephew was telling me recently that he looked up a business on google on his phone and pressed the number to call it straight from the browser. The number google gave was the fax machine and he didn't know what the screeching was

We get people calling the fax machine over and over at work trying to get through. I find it funny
