Are we in for a bad winter....?
Discussion
Just seen the weather for tomorrow - snow expected in the north east of England.
I've been around for over half a century, but can't ever remember snow at the start of November before. A sprinkling mid December, yes, before the usual dollop in Jan, Feb or March - but Nov?......naaahhh.
And on top of that my mate says there are lots of berries on his bush........

We are lifeforms evolved from single cells that appeared from nowhere, on a ball of rock barrelling through the solar system at huge speed and we dont live very long so dont have much concept of patterns or randomness, we are here and weather happens one way or another, what that weather consists of varies year by year and depends on many factors, it will probably broadly within current expectations give or take a couple of degrees which will affect the type of precipitation.

Thanks for that prof. Hawking, but is it going to snow or not ??The 80s used to have proper snow, snow drifts 1 metre high in the midlands. The winter tyre brigade would cum in there pants just seeing it. Now a days we get 2 day at most. I wouldn't worry we just Dont get harse winters anymore.

Hmmm...it was pretty bad in both 2009/10 and 10/11.The reason they've been mild since then is I bought a set of winter tyres for winter 11/12.

There's tons of berries on the bushes down south too. I believe the story goes that it's a sign of a harsh winter so the birds can stock up early but it was like that 2 years ago and not an ounce of snow all winter.
If nature is giving the birds 3 years to stock up with berries, it looks like it's gonna be a real badass winter! Next June we'll all be using tennis racquets as snowshoes.....

That's because God is working to a plan - knows all sees all, and provides for his creatures to survive the winter. (Well most of them)Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
