I always get rubbish for xmas so thought asking for one of these might be a good idea

Has anyone used one, had a flat battery last week and this would be much better than waving jumpleads at cars passing. By

Do they come where they are chargeable by USB, rather thana bespoke lead for me to loose

Any thoughts / experience would be great

I have one. It jump started a diesel Megane 3 times in 2 days without being topped up.

Generic £70 Chinese thing. Great kit.

I bought a generic Chinese one after regularly leaving the light on in the Scimitar (no door open warning... yet). It's pretty good, starts stuff 90% of the time. It wouldn't start the Scimitar entirely on its own, ie the car's battery is completely shot and showing 1.5V, but anything else was fine. It would jump a car 3 or 4 times on a charge. Also comes with a handy LED torch in the end.

A note on charging from USB, the battery inside will be charged to 15V or so and USB only makes 5V as you probably know.
