Been working for 39 years, 14 with current employer.
Never really had much in the past, bottle of booze, or some eats, maybe a small Christmas box (£)
But this year nothing.
Anybody else?

Nope, and odd that they are doing nothing, not even a lunch that you get to pay to go to.

Had a free Christmas lunch a couple of weeks ago in the staff canteen - but that's all.

Never really had a 'christmas gift' or bonus from any employer that I can recall.

My wife did this year however. She got a gift card (£10 I think) a bottle of decent wine and a small M&S hamper.

I've worked for a few different companies and I've never had anything from any of them at Christmas.

Not received anything from my employer, but wasn't expecting anything either.

Seen plenty of gifts to employee's at client sites though. Christmas goodie bags full of random gifts with values between £500-800 depending on the luck of the draw at a site yesterday for example. So some employers still treat their staff at Christmas.

A few tins of Quality Street dotted around the office.

At the Christmas Lunch I attended last week (which we paid for ourselves) the boss did step in and put a few quid behind the bar.

Have never worked at another company though, and this one doesn't "do" Christmas bonus/party as other firms seem to do. Next year might be the year of the new job...

My pals firm used to give all their staff Tesco vouchers at Christmas, until people started moaning that they didn't shop at Tesco etc etc, now they give them nothing!

Nothing here, can't be seen to be favouring one particular religious holiday etc. wink

They did have a 10 pin bowling night a few weeks back with food and drink but I didn't go as it meant I'd have to drive 10 miles in the wrong direction before going home from 10 miles further away than usual. Bah humbug biggrin

I was handed a bottle of rioja about 20 minutes ago. I expected nothing and I'm grateful for what I received.

Me neither, and on top of that, they force us to hand over any gifts we get from clients and suppliers (calenders, bottles of whiskey, pens etc) to be stuck in a tombola at head office to give the poor office workers who don't get to trudge around the country in all weathers a chance too. If we don't hand them over, we are threatened with sacking for gross misconduct as we might be accepting bribes.
I've started refusing all such gifts, but suggesting that my wife (who has no business relationship with my employer at all) might appreciate the gift instead. I've even been so kind as to offer to deliver them to her purely out of the goodness of my heart.

we used to get a christmas hamper, but as the oil industry is going tits up, 1500 hampers is an unnecessary cost that i'd prefer to spend on keeping someone in a job.

my last day today, someone suggested getting some pizza ordered. the boss has just told the organiser to put it on his card. nice gesture.

Big Christmas party for all staff with taxis home for those who wanted them. Some staff got a little Christmas bonus too. It doesn't cost much in the grand scheme of things but means a lot, I think.

The department is off to play darts tonight and I understand some food and drink will be provided, that's about it. Im not going as the company has been acting like a bunch of tossers this year, threatening redundancy but issuing a high court injunction to prevent people moving to a competitor. Lots of crap like that.

I've got Sunday off as my company is American. Which as a working day is most welcome.

My wife has had to take a days holiday for it.

2 weeks off, 3.5% brucie, many lunches (another today), lots of bottles from subbies etc.

Can't grumble.

Last year though, stuck in a country that doesn't do Christmas - nowt. Apart from a sun tan, and a few cold beers by the pool on the roof.

No goodies, just a 'thank you for all your efforts' email from the current CEO.

Our old CEO used to send us £30 in M&S vouchers each, which went down quite well, especially as it all came out of his own pocket (the bill must have been £2500-£3000 each year).

I'm happy with paid holiday though, all floating too. That's enough for me.

We get a free Christmas Lunch in the canteen but thats about it.

Im lucky enough to still get a bonus and pay rise this year so I would rather get that than it spent on something I dont want.
