Has anyone been to any of these concerts?

I'd like to book a surprise for my wife and a few friends.

The problem is that I would like to sit and eat at one of the restaurants on the edge of the square. All the options on the Rieu website seem to include dinner at hotels.

So, has anyone been there and dined at one of the restaurants. How did you book it? Was the food any good? Could you see the stage?

TIA.

From what I have seen of his concerts there I would think you would be very lucky to get a table, all seem to be locals .
He is immensely popular in his home town .
The view is pretty good as the TV coverage makes the square look huge but it's not that big .

Thanks for that.

I'd like to organise this as a surprise for my wife.

The plan is to hire a coach and go with a bunch of friends (20-30 people). I'm not planning to tell anyone where we are going. I'm also planning to fly her family in from Spain. She won't know that her family are going to be there until we arrive at the restaurant and they are already seated there.

It's all a bit "Mission Impossible". However, it won't work unless I can book one of the large restaurant tables.

Google will be your friend to get phone numbers etc , most of the Dutch speak very good English, most speak several languages.
They do like romantic and family gestures so I am sure they will help any way they can .
If it comes off you will have a fantastic time ,they do know how to have a good time .
