Proper Wallet

Looking for a decent wallet, preferably with RFID protection, that isn't too big. Needs to fit nicely in to a suit breast pocket as well as jeans at weekends. Enough room 6-8 cards at the most plus folding money.

Any recommendations? So much choice out there.

Money clip

Picked up one from Dunhill and would never go back to a wallet - stores about 6 cards plus enough notes

- does not wreck the lines of the suit
- look dapper as f**K
- just plain like 'em!

regards the RFID (this is the security thing right) the cards in the clip never work on mine unless they are taken out. Same for the oyster card

I had a montblanc wallet that lasted me about 10 years loved it. About 18months ago I replaced with an Ettinger one that someone on here recommended, have to say although I still have it im disappointed with it.

Dunhill also worth a look.

What do you do with coins? I need a new one but have been looking at stuff with coin pockets which limits the options somewhat.

This wallet thing has bugged me for years, plenty look great when empty but yet to find one that works when it's actually got something in it.

I have the slim wallet in brown leather.

Can fit 4 cards protected in the slide (can get more in if using non embossed cards) can get extra 6 cards in the wallet - also has a money clip for notes.

Out of the mass produced English makers I would go for Simpson, Smythson or Ettinger (in that order).

However, if you want a "proper wallet" I would suggest finding a craftsman/woman who handcraft them. There are still craftspeople around who can make an item without machines or press knives and they will blow any of the above makers out of the water though they won't carry the prestige of a LV or similar fashion brand if that is important to you.

I have a mulberry one with a coin pocket. Iv always had coin pockets. Been given two Montblanc ones over the passed two Christmas's without coin bits and not used them due to this.

What do people do with coins. Just let them jingle in your pocket ?

Coins are for poor people ...

Coins live in the car for spending on an as required basis.

I bought a Slim LV Wallet, navy / discreet, 8 cards and two cash "folds", I say I bought it, it was a gift from my partner, which whilst going to purchase I had my phone / wallet (combo case) stolen, so quite timely really.

A coin holder within a wallet is a must for me. What do you guys do if you're given some coins as change then? Rush back to your car to put the coins away?

If you're spending £100+ on a wallet, who cares about coins??
