From rock bottom, too back too normality? Maybe?

Warning, waffle alert.
Didn't really know where to stick this, so plumped for here.
A couple of years ago I stuck a post on here about being at rock bottom, and I really genuinely was. The replies and input I received on here were very, very helpful. Through my continued posts on various different topics that many or some will know, I've had a bit of a battle and this is all DVLA/DMG related.
This post is not about them, its more about hoping for and just needing that 1 little bit of luck/a fair crack of the whip. I'm not after brownie points or woe is me, (although I feel I have every right too.)
On reflection when I look back at the last 2 and a half years it really has been a b
h, but they say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger and plenty of people on Pistonheads along the way said ride the storm, don't give up or similar.
To be honest, I tried. I tried in so many ways to look for positives, different career paths or just a glimmer of light but it has always seemed for that every 1 step I took forward, there were always 2 steps waiting to knock me back.
There are only so many times you can take being kicked in the b
ks repeatedly before you begin to think that it really is you, and that you as an individual were or are domed to fail.
I was never really happy to accept that though, I was always going to fight my corner wrongly or rightly and on reflection I'm still not sure what corner I was fighting for?
Along the way, I've had plenty of good people from this forum offer to help me out. 2 were with very good job offers, and one was financially, (many others offered me financial help but as a proud man, I didn't want to take them all.)
I do have to admit though that I did take 1 of the financial offers. It really hurts to admit that, but the person that helped me made it clear from the start that they did not do this as a loan. It was a genuine offer of help, as were all the other offers and for this I am truly grateful.
2 and a half years down the line and after having the fight kicked out of me i had pretty much given up ever getting anywhere, call me a quitter if you like I am passed caring.
Now though it seems maybe things are changing, I stress MAYBE
All of a sudden it seems I may be in touching distance of getting my LGV licences back, and to top that, in the last week it appears some money maybe coming my way.
The licence thing on its own would be huge, but the money thing also is a very big deal. Its not telephone numbers, Its only a 4 figure sum, but that to me and the Mrs is like winning the lottery. When you have battled for so long to just try and survive a 4 figure sum is a really big deal, so fingers crossed it either will, or will not come off?
I hope it does, as it means for the first time in a long time we will be going forward at last, and we can pay back the people who helped us out when things got really, really bad.

Thanks all.
Turns out the money is indeed mine, as mentioned its not a huge figure but for us its like winning the lottery and we were dancing around the kitchen earlier. We have gone without for a fair while so going to the supermarket earlier and filling the trolley without a care in the world was a bloody great feeling, we still looked for the deals though
I still think I may have a battle with the whole licence thing, but even that is finally looking a bit more favourable.
As much as that whole fiasco has at times nigh on ruined me these recent events fill me with a reasonable amount of hope and fight again, I have nothing to lose after all as the DVLA/DMG have it, I'll just enjoy trying to get it back and pointing out to them the errors of their ways

You only learn a lesson from adversity.Didn't really know where to stick this, so plumped for here.

Do you think people who get everything or everything goes really well, are wise people?
