Not sure if link will work.

Or google "282 Meols Parade, Wirral"

Both look like military bunker vent shafts and the round one has hangar doors.

Any ideas? No mention on 'internetz

I think the larger one is a sewage pumping station and the smaller one is something electric like a substation.

No conspiracies!

I'd go with, with sewage pumping station and substation. The drain covers around it, plus the fact there seems to be an 'outfall' marker on the beach too. If it is a pumping station, it would usually have its own transformer and substation too, which might explain the smaller building, seems there was some controversy surround it and a proposal to pump nuclear waste through it, as you do....

Seems it has a 3 mile outfall pipe too, not surprising looking at the tides....

As a Londoner it's always nice to see the seaside. Even upnorthshire where they are pumping poo.

OS map abbreviations PpHo suggest it's a 'pump house' rather than a pump station (Ppg Sta), whatever that is.

How boring!

Ok here's another one if you are bored.

When you drive past MOD Sealand, there are some wierd looking buildings.

What are they?

That's next to the electricity station, so either linked to that or potentially it could be the camp standby generator.
