Just had a slightly surreal trip to the petrol station / mini market this morning. Got there to find 3 men surrounding the cash machine jabbering away at each other in what I think was Farsi. Needing some cash I cautiously approached them and the machine.

In very broken English one them asked me how they could get some money out of the machine. I tried to explain about needing a debit card or credit card but I am not sure he really understood. Another of them broke into the conversation and pointed to the sign next to machine and said "How I get free money?" The sign looked pretty much like this:

On a scale of 1-OhGoodLordAlmighty, how terrified of anyone even slightly different from oneself must one be to make up a story like this and post it on the Internet?

And you people have the temerity to call my generation 'safe space snowflakes'.

Well snowflake. It did actually happen; I wouldn't of posted if it hadn't. As for being "terrified of anyone even slightly different from oneself" I wouldn't live in the most culturally diverse city outside of London if that were the case.

I remember when cash back became a thing, a guy at work was telling us that he was shopping, used his card and they gave him money back!

We had to explain that they were giving him his own money, like a cash point, not free money.

Its a bit like the Free Range Eggs you see signs for on the side of the road.I still don't know what a range egg is, but I don't want them anyway, even if they are free.

You're obviously a kind soul though.
If I knew anybody that thick I think I'd be tempted to goad them on.. "Really? That's awesome! They'll probably stop it at some point though, so get back down there, ask for as much as possible!"
