Call that a drink!!!

Actually, probably depends how old you are. When I was younger I could drink and not get hangovers. Now, they last ages and are hell. That wouldn't stop me from working, but the quality would be down a bit.

Depends how long the night out is to be fair, it's not a huge amount to take down volume wise if it's an all afternoon/all day session, it's a lot to take down if you arrive at the pub for 8 and leave by half 11.

A heavy drinker i worked with several years ago would have that as a warm up.
Normal night for him was 4 x 4 pint pitchers - he used to drink straight from them. Then it would be on average 22 cans of stella.
He certainly liked to drink i presume he's dead now due to liver or heart failure.

Easily , a few beers early doors , a couple of 2for1 cocktails happy hour , bottle of wine with dinner then beers afterwards in company .
A couple of blokes in my local will drink 6 pints after work in less than 90 mins and drive the half mile walk home , come back later and have 4 or 5 more , every night of the week !

Yeah that's the key. I have probably drunk 20 pints or so and then a load of shorts but it's over a 12-14 hour period.

Depending on the type of wine(9-14%), type of beer(4-5.5%) and the type of cocktails (20%?) it's not unimaginable. Especially if your diary's empty and you can find a quiet corner to hide in.

When we were in uni two lads used to have a bottle of wine each BEFORE going out drinking! Animals.

The reason I no longer drink is due to social binge drinking back in the 90s. I was too young to realise that you could build up a degree of tolerance to alcohol, to the extent where I would have a bottle of vodka before I went out on the lash, then spend £30 or so on drinks while I was out - twice, maybe three times in a week.
A load of blood tests and liver function tests later, the doctor gave me some very stark choices, which is not what you what to hear as a 21 year old party monster.

I've not been a drinker since 1996, although I have had a few very rare occasions since then where I got drunk just for nostalgia.

There are young ladies all over the country doing this every weekend. The fall out can be seen in any town center from 10 PM onwards.

Are you serious? You consider yourself able to drink and qualify that by saying that that's a maximum of six pints? Your bloke at work's list isn't really anything extraordinary.

Again, depends on your age and how regular you drink. The amount the OP listed is nowhere near what I could consume 20 years ago on a lads night out. Whereas now, the amount listed is not even what I put away in a single decade.

Yup. A cheap bottle of wine ahead of hitting the pub was an efficient means to arrive at the scene on good form and then not be spending huge amounts on beer as you'd just need one periodically to remain topped up.

Our walk from school to the nearest pub was twenty minutes. A bottle of black tower covered the distance about perfectly.

As someone whose limit is about 5 pints spread over a night, I think it's quite a lot

The director at work plays pool every thursday and between 8pm and midnight regularly puts away up to 15 pints of lager. God knows how he does it (and still plays pool - he was the Area League Champion last year!)
