Where the fkity fk do they go to? I live on my own in a three bed semi: if the ones that have disappeared suddenly all turned up, I'd be ankle deep in the fkersmad Are they fitted with some sort of Klingon cloaking device that we're not told about? How do they migrate from upstairs to down stairs and vice versa without any external influence? No, really, I want to know!! Is it just me it happens to?

No idea, but I was in one of our other offices the other day and the admin girl goes "There's never any pens in this office! Order loads with the stationery and they all disappear immediately!"

Which, was then followed with her saying "I've got about a million in my handbag because they all go missing from the office"

She couldn't put the two statements together to understand the issue.

We moved into our house three weeks ago. I bought a pack of six pens because we all know the pen fairy is around. Last week I couldn't find one, not a single pen! There is only the daughter and me here!

Few days ago I bought a pack of 12, in three colours. Today I can see three of them, no idea where the others are.

Another one plagued by the pen poltergeist both at work and at home. I don't use any expensive pens anymore, just cheap crap, because I don't want to lose another valuable pen. The ones which upset me most were the silver Cross pen and fountain pen set which my sister gave me as a present when I graduated from medical school. frown 16 years on, I still miss them frown she gave me a Mont Blanc set when I got married and I keep those in the safe!

Coat hangers do the opposite. They multiply. I can hardly get to the front door due to the amount of bloody hangers in my house.

Someone ought to design a coat hanger that has a biro inbuilt. This would redress the hanger/pen balance.

For us, it's lighters. Just seemed to start going missing constantly.

Then we moved the sofa, and found nearly 50 under it. Turns out the kitten loves playing with them at night, until he spangs it under the sofa where he can't extract it.

Same again! We just moved in, with a half dozen hangers, and found two wardrobes full of the bloody things, then in my old garage I found a laundry basket FULL of the fking things that we left where when we rented the place out years ago! It has the makings of some horror movie....

Ditto teaspoons. I bought a rather fetching set of brushed steel "Data" cutlery from Ikea some time ago. All the teaspoons vanished. Needless to say they're now out of production and significantly more expensive on ebay than I paid for then new.
