Don't you think this is a bit of a piss-take? They're even using a stihl to cut up the paving slabs / kerb stones? It's not quiet

If it is just repairing the footpath then yes it's taking the piss but it might be an emergency repair (eg of utilities) where time is of the essence.

Go and ask wtf they are doing. Don't forget to film it.

It kind of depends why they are doing it.

And.. how often it happens.
e.g. 1 night a year... get over it. You will have more problems with neighbours partying.

I'm not bothered. They are repairing the kerb stones which all the lorries and buses run up as they take the left. It will be back to how it was in a month. Still, money goes from taxpayers > council > crappy private companies doing a bad job as planned.

Doesn't look residential to me, looks like a town centre so disruption maybe minimal?

Last summer repair people worked all night outside my house, pneumatic drills - the lot. Fixing a gas leak they said.

Still took them a cup of tea next morning, they apologised but had to do it.

They do repairs during the working day, hold up traffic and people complain.

Why is it a bad job? Its not the contractors fault the vehicles keep mounting the kerb and damaging it?

Another factor might be that to carry out the work safely in the daytime they would need traffic management (lights), other work in the area may mean they cannot get planning for the TM. I had this on a recent job, had to put in a drop kerb on a busy main road, applied for planning to erect the lights and it was rejected as Western Utilities had numerous lights up and works going on in the area looking for a gas leak. You would be surprised how arsey some LA's are when it comes to causing traffic disruption, even when it's for their own projects!

Regards
Crappy private company owner hehe

The least disruptive time to do the work- would be much more difficult/hassle during the day so be grateful there actually doing it and is it really such a big deal? NO!
