Nothing seems to be correct these days.

Purchased a couple of t-shirts from a national brand. They had a size chart on the listing. When received they were 10% smaller than the sizing chart. When challenged they admitted they had downsized the fit due to customer feedback (yeah right!) but couldn't work out how to remove the size chart from the listing ....

Purchased a pair of Next shoes in my size. Not even a close fit ....

Purchased a pair of shoes from a high volume seller (200,000 feedback). One didn't fit. On closer inspection the pattern and fit is slightly different for each shoe, so not even a matching pair ....

It's just not worth the grief anymore.

PS Sorry for the lack of profanities. Just needed to vent frustration.

I think a lot of items sold on eBay as new are either shop rejects or refurbished goods.

Do you think the T-shirts are fake?

No, they were real. I had a big email argument with the retailer (strange aquatic beings). In the end I got them to refund me without return of the goods.

Could the sizing problems with most modern clothing be down to the fact most of it is made in the far east .
I have seen some T shirts listed as xxl that are by UK standards barely a medium.
I do find it strange that everyone tells us that we are all getting obese in the west yet most clothing is not available in larger sizes .

ebay nothing, try Belstaff for sizing. I reckon they drop some glue onto the jackets and dip them into a box of random size labels to see which one sticks!

Everyones at it, I own a pair of Asics. Bought in a shop in whatever size it was. Found a pair of Asics I liked online and ordered in the same size and had to send them back because they were too small.

I ordered a paid of New balances online from a well known retailer. Apart from looking like someone had put there man mayo on them. The left shoes was tiny in comparison to the right.

Iv never had an issue with sizing of different feet before.

I just go to a shop, you know, one of those places in town, try things on, and if they fit and I like I buy.

Novel but it works.

I have an aquaintance who is very ebay savvy, he orders cut price designer stuff which he can tell is fake, then complains to the vendor about the fakery, threatening to report them etc.

Invariably the dodgy seller will refund him and let him keep the items.

Unfortunately I now take the view that much of the new stuff on EBay are rejects, fakes, returns, poor fitting or shop soiled and that it won't properly fit me or the car/bike/house.

Appreciate it won't matter on some things but as said above, for correct fitting & checking for quality, you can't beat the High Street but we're all bad as each other for not supporting it enough.

had similar recently.

I have a load of Hugo Boss 'Green' crew neck T's that i wear under jumpers/hoodys etc... and they came up on Deal of the Day a few weeks ago for £13 (shop price £45) so I ordered a few and they are real but definitely faulted as all the internal tags are not like they normally are - the fit is off as well as the XL is fine on the store bought but a little snug/sprayed on with the ebay ones

went to contact them and the listing/seller has been pulled from ebay so I cant leave feedback or complain now - wonderful!

It's not really ebay savvy, more ebay .

I currently work for a company that supplies some of the big retailers with socks, ties, scarves, that kind of thing.

They amass a large amount of rejects, samples etc and every so often a "buyer" takes huge volumes at a job-lot cost.

This will then end up on ebay etc - this is probably what you are buying when you buy some branded stuff off there.

It's not just Ebay though, various retailers have completely different views of standard sizes.

After Chistmas i bought a load of T-shirts from 2 well known retailers all in the same size, one retailer fitted perfectly foine, the other was akin to a size smaller. On the other hand the retailer the OP talks about seem to be a size larger that what is labelled. It's a lottery.

What type of freak orders clothing online? It takes me a couple of hours sifting through real clothing to find anything that fits.
