Leaving aside the minor issue of overcrowding and late running, Liverpool Street station stinks ........of st.

What kind of country do we live in when it is considered OK for a trains lavatories to evacuate onto the tracks, let alone to do so in a bloody station for heavens sake.

You should check out the bangers & mash in Carlisle station, and I don't mean in the cafe

I once looked out of the window of a train while it paused at Wakefield Kirkgate. It struck me as the kind of place where people get murdered.

Years ago went for a night out in Manchester. Caught the train (to Piccadilly?) on a Friday night. Remember using the toilets there and having to wade through an inch of water (and god knows what else) to use the urinals vomit

We'd already had a few beers earlier, looking back there's no way I'd have gone in there sober.

The older intercity 125 trains evacuate waste onto the tracks, the newer type trains have cassette toilets I think.

As for nasty stations, Bristol Temple Meads is pretty grim down on the rails.

Those trains are gradually being phased out, thank god. Unfortunately it's the idiots that use them who think it's OK to flush in a station, and ignore or are too stupid to understand the signs saying "Do not use when train is in a station".

My local train station stinks of piss most of the time.

Not ideal, luckily I go there once in a blue moon.

The thing with Carlisle is, the old units that dump all over the tracks terminate there in the bay platforms. So either someone is pulling into the station and taking a st right before they get off, or they are getting on and immediately taking a st!

Southall station smells of cooking onions nearly every time I go through.[Twice a day]
Mind you Great Western trains are nicer than Southeastern trains.

Why do trains simply lock the doors 30 seconds before, during, and after stopping. smile

Probably against some human right law somewhere....

Doesn't stop people being locked in the bog at a station.

And I know it's fashionable on PH to be anti-pc/human rights etc - but fk that!
