Sports Direct woes
Discussion
I came back from holiday to find a package in my car port from Sports Direct. I don't shop at Sports Direct. The package was addressed to someone who doesn't live at my address (although it was my address), and had not been signed for by anyone.
I called Sports Direct, who are not interested in collecting it, due to it's low value, and told me I could keep it or dispose of it.
The problem is, it's a 6ft long plastic Ice hockey stick. I do not know anyone who plays, and my nearest rink is 45 miles away. It obviously won't fit in the wheelie bin, and I'd not be comfortable disposing of this much plastic in general waste anyway. My only option is to drive a 20 mile round trip to the local refuse centre, queue to get in, and dispose of it in the plastics bin.
Am I being unreasonable in that I really don't see why I should? Sports Direct Customer Services are bloody rude, and suggest I'm being unreasonable. I was even told to snap it up and put it in the general waste? I'm under the impression that Ice Hockey sticks are quite hard to break?
So, should I just suck it up and waste a Saturday morning going to the dump?....or what?

OK, seems I'm being unreasonable then. Fair enough.
I didn't want to go the Gumtree route, as people don't turn up after you've waited in for the morning, and my nearest town with a charity shop is 15 miles away. (yes, I live in the sticks)
It was probably Sports Direct's rudeness that spawned the post. But that's fine, I'll never be a customer.
Cheers.

Drill a hole in the head and fit a bulb.
If you have environmental concerns (which your comment about general waste suggests you might), hook it up to a renewable source of electricity. Otherwise just run a cable from one of your mains sockets.
Dig a small hole and place it, handle first into the ground.
Switch it on.
Hey presto, you've made a handy streetlight for very small people.

Saw it in 2 and put it in your recycling bin you big Jessie if you can't be bothered to actually leave your house to dispose of it in a more useful way.I called Sports Direct, who are not interested in collecting it, due to it's low value, and told me I could keep it or dispose of it.

Or join a hockey club, or give it to your local school

Then you better sit down, relax, and get ready for the next big life challenging crisis
