At the weekend we were doing some gardening. The Mrs goes around the back of the garage and then returns with some rapidity.
"You'll have to move it!", quoth she. "But my Darling, I am cleaning the patio and am therefore occupied with a task you wanted me to do. Can you not move this thing yourself?"
"No".
It's a dead rabbit. Half eaten. Just the head and the rear legs remain.
Dutifully I shove the thing in a carrier bag, tie it up neatly and put it in the bin.
It is only ever me who cleans up the icky stuff. It's a "man job". Apparently. Because it doesn't bother me. I'm told.
Hmmm. In the same way I simply don't understand the washing machine.
What do you have to do?

What do you have to do?
Walking 'her' dog, 'my' dog left us a month ago, walking hers is still my job though
Mowing the lawn, cleaning up after her dog 1st of course.
To be fair, she did mow the lawn once, the fact that I can't trust her with my petrol mower means she won't be doing it again even if she did want to.

So much this, my little lady has no recognition of the intrinsic nature of power tools, she would cheerfully prise a nail out of a floorboard with my best chisel and don't get me started on the bloody kichen knives I've repaired or thrown.

Sometimes just easier to crack on.

Taking the bins out and putting new bin bags in the bin.... Not sure if it's just my Mrs who insists?
Recognise this one. It is often because the bin is too stinky so the man must deal with it.Here's another: After dishwashing the griddle or saucepan or whatever is left on the counter, rather than being put in the cupboard. Because it is too difficult for her. Its storage location is either too high up and underneath too many heavy things...
Apparently our kitchen bin can generate more stink when we're not in the house!
She'll quite happily let the bin get completely full before instructing me to empty it. However, if we're going away, like we just have for a total of 2 nights, the bin MUST be emptied before we go even if it's only at 25 % capacity as if not, It'll create an ungodly amount of stench!

Funny how women bang on about gender equality when it comes to careers, power, money, etc., but as soon as the trash needs taking out or something dead and half eaten needs dealing with we quickly regress to the 1950s!
Indeed this.
We have constant arguing over blue and pink jobs but generally, each others' chores are reasonably settled. Unless it comes to actual labour in the garden which seems to fall on me

Evicting migrant spiders, 'cos "I don't mind spiders like you do ," quoth she.
Evicting guesting moths/daddy long legs, etc 'cos "They freak me out."
Plus, throughout the five years we did motorhoming, I was required to empty and re-prep the toilet cassette. Apparently, it was a 'man task' but it was her role to also use the facility?
Plus, bins, jobs involving muck/goop, pongy stuff, etc.

One of us spent half a day last autumn rodding the blocked kitchen and bathroom drains round our house, after her mother had spent the whole summer here pouring cooking fat down them. Me or the wife? You guess.Evicting guesting moths/daddy long legs, etc 'cos "They freak me out."
