Listening to the radio this morning someone mentioned the "Flat Earth Society" I had heard of them before but always thought it was a joke until curiosity and ten seconds of Googleing produced this:

https://theflatearthsociety.org/home/

I have now wasted most of the morning reading stuff on the site and I have to say I am convinced, how could I have got it so wrong for so many years.

I suggest you all have a look and rid yourself of your backward thinking, not only does it all make sense but it is comedy gold

It's been around donkeys years. I always thought it was a parody, but makes amusing reading, and certainly makes you question stuff you take for granted.

I found this the other afternoon, it was a source of great amusement and i particularly like their theory that the water doesn't fall off the edge of the earth as it is all held in by massive icebergs/mountains that no-one has felt the need to fly over!

It's self evident that the earth is not flat, otherwise cats would have gently knocked everything off the edge by now.

Agree with Old Man Fred. Is the ice wall to protect us from white walkers and Game Of Thrones is actually non fiction?

A solid 50% (likely much higher) of the FES forum is people taking the piss - just so you know.

There are a lot fruit loops out there, but there are a lot of people that like engaging with fruit loops - just look at how many people here keep talking to 5ohmustang.

If the Earth is supposedly flat, what's on the other side?

I spent a while in work last year reading the forums just out of pure curiousity. Like some have said it does make you think about stuff you'd never thought about before. However most of their ideas are actually based on simplistic homemade experiments which are massively flawed. They tend to take things at face value as evidence of their beliefs like the guy who took a spirit level on a plane to proove the world is flat.

They have a lot of imagination and are only basing their opinion on what they can see. If it weren't for NASA images of the Earth and other planets and stars then you may have a point. Plus the lack of motive for the "World Elite" to keep up a conspiracy like this sort of shoots the whole thing down.

The other side of the world obviously, I thought everyone knew that.

Surely you've heard older people talking about The B-Side? 'They' deal with anybody who mentions it in public so memory of it is fading away now.

As far as i can make out it depends if you believe in their Dual Earth theory or not. If you don't believe it, then there is nothing, if you do, there is 'our' earth we live on then another earth on the other side which no-one lives on with a small gap in between the earths.

No-one lives on the other side as people are only kept on 'our' earth because it is moving upwards in space and anyone on the other side would literally fall off, because without a round earth there is no gravity.

They also believe that all pictures from NASA etc are photoshopped to make the earth look like a globe, where it is actually just flat and round like a pizza...

Read somewhere the other day that the earth could not possibly be flat because if it was you'd have had some Russian teenager with a Go-Pro strapped to his head hanging off the edge by now and posting it on Youtube.

The phrase originates from a conversation that occured directly after a speech which described how the earth revolves around the sun.

At the end of the speech an elderly lady stood up and said,

"What you have told us is rubbish. The world is really a flat plate supported on the back of a giant tortoise."

The scientist then smugly asked,

"What is the tortoise standing on?"

"You're very clever, young man, very clever", said the old lady. "But it's turtles all the way down!"

You guys make me sick! This tread is full of racist flatearthophobes, you should all be ashamed of yourselves. There is no place for such narrow minded bigots in our society, you will either learn to respect other people's beliefs or I will report this to the moderators.
