How to hide and insure
Discussion
Im taking an engagement ring on holiday.
No travel insurance seems to cover for items more than 300 pound in your luggage should it go missing.
I was going to hide it in socks in the suitcase but now i dont want to take the risk incase it gets lost, ring cost 1800.
So my only other option is hand luggage which we share, so unable to hide it.
Anyone got any ideas on how to insure it or hide in hand luggage, my home insurance is due for renewal in a month so pointless adding it on there.

Blimey. There's optimism.
My advice is not to propose to someone on the first night. Enjoy your holiday, try to pull a different girl each night and, if you must, offer to marry the last one. If she's a definite no, then you can always go back and find one of the mid-holiday women and ask them, but if you commit on day one, you're narrowing your options somewhat.

I know she will say yes
Proposing on holiday is such a generic idea though. Better to hint you're going to, get her hopes up. Then don't.Treat em mean

Or propose in a completely bizarre situation like she's doing the washing up or ironing. Lets her know, nothing will change when she gets married to you
You're Welcome

I know the PH massive will be shocked but my wife never goes in my wallet even if I give her permission, she brings the wallet to me so I can lend her our joint debit card or to give the kids some cash.
IF yours to be is the same then just wrap in some tissue and put it in your wallet.

As long as you can wait 2 or 3 days into the holiday this has no downsides. It will also give her a funny story to tell to her friends.
A ring from a ring, you can just imagine how funny that will be.That will surprise her
