Reasons why you left your girlfriend
Discussion
I'm not a particularly good looking man and I often wonder why any woman would want to lie-down next to me so you could say I have no right to dump anyone yet when I get it into my head that I want to leave a relationship then my mind is pretty much set, when the subject comes up for discussion some of the reasons seem to split opinion.
A few examples include;
My current girlfriend gave me a similar ultimatum about marriage and I told her it will never happen and I explained what had happened in the past and we almost had the same outcome, she claims it broke her heart at the time but has come to accept it.
So, I am just wondering what other peoples experiences were?
A few examples include;
- She would nag me all the time and come home from work in a bad mood and sulk in the corner, she always made me feel like I had done something wrong and that alone would put me in a bad mood.
- One had a history or cancer, strokes, and another nasty hereditary diseases in the family which I didn't want passed to my children.
- A few months in with a girl I met on Tinder she said she goes out with me because "I don’t look like a cheater", too ugly to cheat I think she meant.
- 12 months in and I found out I wasn't her type, she likes tanned lads with blonde hair, muscles and tattoos…the polar opposite of me and especially strange because again we met on Tinder, I set her free so she could find someone more in keeping with her type.
- One was very ditsy and we had many misunderstandings which ended up with countless arguments, not only that but I would never trust her with kids or anything more important than the weekly shop.
- One wanted to get married and said if I don't marry her in X amount of years she would leave me, again I set he free so she could find someone who wanted the same.

I left one because I wasn't going to marry her and I felt I was wasting her time. In hindsight, I should probably have married that one! But in truth there are no lessons in looking back. No way to try both paths.
But I do agree with the first thing you mentioned: as soon as you get that "should I leave her?" thought, you may as well do it then. It never goes away.

Been a while, but here are a few of mine:
- She had horrendous breath and would never accept chewing gum whenever I offered.
- We knew each other for a while before, but on our first night together she had really hairy legs. There was no second run.
- Sent me too many text messages. Literally constantly all day. I realised she really had a problem when we were in the pub and she texted me whilst I was in the toilet. Just f
k off and leave me alone!
- She was vegetarian and disapproved of me eating meat. She also moaned at how much beer I drink. No-one gets between me, my food and beer.
- Finally, one of my mates took the piss out of her (very minor) and she went absolutely nuts at him, then went nuts at another for telling her to calm down. Then went nuts at me for laughing. I think at that point it was either end it, or die.

Yes been there done that. Also had the going psyco if I didn't respond back within 5 mins. Tried to go through my phone and quiz me me on who all the calls were from, and then was suprised when I simply left and never came back.

Things were great, we talked about our future, marriage, kids, houses etc., everythng was going great and I had never been as happy in a relationship. Then 4 days before we were supposed to move in together it ended.
Still have no idea if it was the right thing to do or the biggest mistake of my life, only time will tell I guess
