I think that died a death for a reason.

Hear the drivers sound their horn.

Such a shame. Brings an end to a 25 year game of revving a big engine and sounding the horn, main beam on to watch the tourists leg it off the crossing.

It sometimes reappeared in summer months but tourists could be messing about on the crossing at any time of year.
