I have seen an item (iPad ) that I would like to buy but it would require posting.
Seller is saying he would like a direct bank transfer, should I run away?

I have never used the site, but I would only pay via Paypal goods (not friends & family) to make sure you're protected.

Bank transfer has no comeback for you, at all, so if you are getting any squirrelly signals from the seller, yes, run.

Maybe offer to pay his PayPal fees?

Cheers guys, having looked at his other items they all look a little cheap (too good to be true) and he says he doesn't have PayPal..

I have told him to do one smile
FYI. This item was listed as an unwanted gift, he seems to have a few modern unwanted gifts!

This one was a 256gb iPad Pro for £250...

When I saw 'unwanted gift' I thought it might be some spoiled brat that didn't care.

As soon as I saw his other items (Samsung S8's and stuff) alarm bells started ringing..

Doesn't have PayPal? This isn't eBay in the early 00s where we all sent cheques! Everyone has PayPal and if they're that backwards that they genuinely don't, maybe suggest they join us here in the modern world and spend 2 minutes setting it up.

They're a scamming bd. Buy elsewhere.

I keep getting updates from schpok. Four other people have made an offer on his iPad, I find it hard to believe the first person didn't buy it at that price..

Definitely looks dodgy!

Them were the dayslaugh

First item I ever bought off Ebay was a Sony amplifier - I was on QXL before that but I think Ebay bought them. Won the auction about 10pm on a Saturday night & ended up going round to the chaps house, taking his amp and giving him a cheque. All done on the trust of a handshake & I don't think "being scammed" even entered my head - nor his obviously!

In fact, I've still got the amp and it still works - 16 years later!

My grandma bought a Sony separates system in the mid seventies, she gave it to me in the early nineties, the amp lived in my damp garage for years, then on my pc and then gave it to my middle son maybe seven years ago, he does Music production at university and does his own music, it gets battered daily, left on and generally abused but keep on going, amazing really considering the hammer it has had.

Is it the brushed metal fronted stuff in wooden cases with Solid State on the front?

If so I inherited a set of that from my grandfather and it survived moving every term at school, every term at uni and every flat move. What it didn't survive was the wedding so it is now living at an old uni friends house where his three children have it in their playroom and it's still going strong. It'll outlive the cockroaches.

Not got any wood on it, but its silver, everything was then I guess, about 1983 everything went black, as a kid I used to covet this HiFi, it was really quite expensive for then, and I used to think that the poor thing had to suffer my grandmas awful Country and Western Ken Dodd and other horrors, then she decided it was too big and gave it me, also have her Hitachi ghetto Blaster, another item she knew I took a shine to as a kid as was way better than my single speaker radio/tape thing, she bestowed it on me say 15 years ago and I wonder what to do with it, it ended up rigged to a pc in the garage as it had a line in where it lives to this day.
