A morbid topic I know but was reading about this poor chap in the papers today.

A father fell to his death from a cliff after going on a night out to celebrate being given the all clear from cancer.

And it reminded me about this lady a few years ago...

Johanna Ganthaler, Italian Woman Who Missed Flight 447, Killed In Car Accident. An Italian woman who arrived late for the Air France plane flight that crashed in the Atlantic last week has been killed in a car accident.

Anyone have any personal other examples of this kind of stuff?

I was thinking the same about that story, heard a few similar ones and always makes me think of final destination.
They are weird and makes you wonder about it sometimes.
Bit spooky!!

Anyone who's had a 'personal example' won't be able to tell you biggrin

Not quite final destination but something was having a go at this chap.

Back in the day he was sent away from his home town to work in another Japanese city, Hiroshima.... that didn't end well, it was, after all, august 1945, and an American bomber popped by...
He survived and managed to get back to his home town a day or two later... Nagasaki.
Where the Americans again paid a visit.

Every time this topic turns up on Reddit there's mention of a video of a wooden beam falling from a truck and impaling a woman in the car behind.

I think there's a similar death in the first Final Destination?

The video is well known for being one of the most distributing things you'll see on the net... not least because her husband and two kids were there to witness it.

I never want to see it.

I think it was the 2nd or 3rd one, a logging truck has an accident or something (I haven't seen it for quite a while) and the logs do carnage.

Not quite deaths, but I am sure I remember reading about a survivor at Paddington who was in a plane crash in Singapore a few days before.

I stand back a bit while waiting at a level crossing on foot for a train to come past, just because of that film.

Not sure whether this guy should be feeling incredibly lucky that he's still alive or unlucky that he's been caught up in two terror attacks in one year.

During the WTC attacks of 9/11, a lot of walking wounded from 1WTC were sheltering in 3WTC (a hotel) when the first collapse occured.
The hotel was as good as demolished in the process, with many of the fatalities therein having escaped from the main towers barely twenty minutes before.

A friend of mine has been in 2 train crashes. Minor injuries, bruising and suchlike in one, unhurt in the second.

Apparently quite a few people die worldwide each year attempting to fake their own deaths.
