Been married 3 years now and ever worn a wedding ring. Used my dads gold wedding ring for the day then never put one on again.

Feel like I should but jewellery just irritates me.

Do you wear yours and if not do you get any pressure from the wife to wear one?

I always hated jewellery too, there was a few times I had to wear a watch for various reasons and always hated it too.

I got use to the wedding ring after awhile and now it feels strange if I have to take it off for some thing

Yes I wear mine I'm proud too.

I also wear a family signet ring and a thumb ring too; they are both on my right hand.

Physical job and any ring, unless made from depleted uranium, would get proper fubar'd.

Wear mine on days/nights out only. Went on holiday the other week and forgot until we were in the cab on the way to the airport (going there), mrs had a tanty for a couple minutes but got over it.

I had mine on for about 8 years. It was always a bit slack on the finger as I didn't like it too tight. I then lost a bit of weight and it just kept falling off so I put it in the drawer. Never missed it as it was always a bit of a pain and collected dirt etc. The Mrs never complained about it either.

Cash was pretty tight at our wedding 7 years ago, my ring was a fairly plain ridged band made of aluminium. Rubbish or not, I was proud to wear it.

3 years ago I had a reaction to while on holiday which resulted in an anaphylactic reaction where words didn't come out in the right order, hives all over and my face, hands and feet swelled up. Think Hitch.

Many tests later and it's still undiagnosed but antihistamines keep it mostly under control. I've had 3 further anaphylactic reactions since, one of which temporarily degraded my eyesight to the point that I couldn't distinguish objects smaller than an HGV. I know this because I was driving the North Circular on Gunnersbury Avenue at the time.

I no longer wear a ring, I would prefer to.

I stopped wearing it after I was widowed. Funny this comes up today, I was tidying up earlier and found the little box with the rings in it. I put it on to see if it still fits and then forgot I was wearing it. Felt a bit weird in the supermarket later when I realised I still had it on.

Only took mine off once in 12 years when I had an MRI.

They had to get some KJ jelly to ease my ring. Ooh err. I have become a fat bastid in 12 years it seems...

I got married in January last year and that's the first time I've ever worn any jewellery.

I quite like it now and wear it all the time except when at gym or working with tools or in garden - see degloving.

It's becoming a bit of a habit to take it off and fiddle with it, spin in round on table etc.

Give a quick polish with toothpaste every now and again.

Just a simple white gold band with my wife's name and our wedding date inscribed on the inner face.

Never ever wear mine anywhere near work. Or diy etc etc. Watch off as well. Got the gory films as an apprentice and that was enough. Hear enough about actual accidents as well.

Same here, plus we have all seen the safety videos where guy catches ring on something, degloves finger.... or catches gold ring in arc welder and rings evaporates with predictable results to finger. eek

I have taken mine on and off so many times in the workshop it now lives permanently on the power socket above the bench.

Come to think of it, it is just a plain band, and now looks more like a brass plumbing ferrule, so scratched and worn it is.

I did wear mine to start with, but working offshore meant it spent half the time sitting next to my decent watch at home. I also spend a fair bit of time at home faffing about with old motorbikes in the garage and I just got out of the habit.
This annoys my wife, but now it just feels weird if I do wear it.

Those degloving pictures/videos were quite effective by the looks of things!

I have two wedding rings. Thought I had lost the original one ages a few years ago.

It coincided with a new job and me going out a lot for client entertainment. Wife thought I was cheating and without the wedding ring it got worse.

So I got a replacement made.

A year later wife presented me with the original ring and said she had kept it before we headed off to Thailand in the sock drawer a year after out marriage.

So basically I ended up buying a replacement I did not need to keep the peace.

Your wife hid your wedding ring, then complained you weren't wearing it? confused

My wife has lost three of hers over the last 20 years, muggins here bought her new ones.

I still have my original.
