Things you buy secondhand
Discussion
Obviously, as this is PH, I expect the answer to be nothing. But what things are people happy to buy secondhand?
Some things, like houses and cars are very common, it's almost stranger buying them brand new. But there are a lot of things that I wouldn't dream of buying secondhand, but others would be happy to.
This was prompted by two things - firstly Mrs Moominho is happy to buy anything used, from kitchen equipment to clothes. But I'm not so keen.
The second thing was that I was reading an article about used technology, and they were basically saying that if you want to save money, buying second hand tech is the way to go, as a lot of high end tech is way cheaper when used, even if it hasn't been used very much.

To be fair, all the things above I would probably buy secondhand. I wouldn't buy clothes, shoes or anything to do with cooking though.
Depends. I bought a brilliant Weber BBQ for a tenner at a car boot - less than 10% of the original purchase cost and it cleaned up great. We've used it quite a bit. I'm surprised how close people are willing to go to the new RRP on used goods, but I suppose the savings are cumulative so it makes sense in the round.
Watches, I try never to buy a new watch.
DVDS, used to walk past a cash converters on the way home from work and would always stop in and buy rubbish horror DVDS.
Car bits and bobs, mostly from Japan, when I was into modding.
Snake stuff
Furniture, can get some proportion bargains on eBay etc.
Kitchens, as in the fitted things, believe it or not, I have a kitchen that new was over £100k, I paid less than £10k fitted between 2 BTLS and have about a small flats worth of kitchen in storage!

Furniture, I bought a few bits and now I've made upcycling as they call it (painting old furniture) into a bit of a stress releaving hobby.
I've sold a few bits too, I normally pick it up for about £10-£20 spend £20-30 doing it and sell it on for £50-150 so it's a nice little money spinner
Here's be last thing I did

I'm not sure I own anything possession rather than consumable wise that isn't second hand. All my tech is. Most of my clothes are. All my furniture is.
Second hand in these disposable times is a very different proposition compared to a few decades ago. Back then second hand was borderline broken. These days second hand means someone bought a new shiny when the old shiny was absolutely fine.
