Sold a tent on eBay and the guy who won the auction still hasn't paid a week later. He keeps responding to requests with various "I'll pay you tomorrow" type messages, but so far hasn't ponied up.

How long do I need to give him before I can cancel the transaction?
And, how long have I got to cancel the transaction before Ebay considers it too late to do so?

I think you can open a case two days after auction end and then get a fee credit 7 days after auction end.

I'd raise non-payment as soon as the system will let you. In my experience people who faff will carry on doing it, and he'll never pay.

Take it you didn't look on eBay for the answer? All explained on there:

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/unpaid-items.htm...

I have mine open an unpaid item case automatically after 2 days which helps keep things ticking along if you're selling a lot of items at once. You can close it within 4 days of that and get the item relisted pretty quickly then.

Yes, that.

I hate that they removed the inability to leave negative feedback or even to see their history of not paying.

Probably waiting for another auction to end and will pay for the cheapest one.

Deffo NPB route, timewasters won't change.

I usually pay the minute the auction ends. He's a winetaster. Smoke him.

Just give him a deadline to pay and if not relist it.

Send him an ebay message giving him 24 hours to pay. After that file a non payment with ebay to get your fees back.

Don't even bother sending a deadline. The buyer knows full well what he has to do.
