Just moved into our new house and we decided to tackle the end of the garden, what we thought was a compost/st heap.
After a bit of poking around it turned out to be a collapsed shed sized hut, made from wood, brick and lots and lots of plastic sheeting.
Under the collapsed roof was...
15 empty 20L sodium hypochlorite drums
4 home made plastic demi jars with air locks.
A live power cable from the house.
Lots of small round light bulbs.
Lots of empty sugar beet sacks from countywide.
Lots of empty fertiliser bags.
Lot of peat sacks.
Home made polystyrene boxes.
Lots of rubber pipe some with holes along it.
And finally lots of plastic sheeting.

My first thought after seeing the bleach was Bomb? Then the Demi jars and sugar beet was vodka. Then the diy hydroponics made me thing drugs? Anyway it's being turned into a bonfire in a minute.

I think I'd hold fire on the fire until you've mentioned it to the police just in case it's terrorism related.

Wow more than I thought there would be. I used to have to soak the stuff in water for a wile before I put it in horse feed, I think it was to help it put on weight.

A Potassium Hypochlorite find might have been more concerning, but the combination of items you've got there doesn't sound particularly sinister and they may not have been used in conjunction with each other anyway.

I can't think of something you might want to do involving growing stuff, oxidising stuff and sugar beet, but there may be I suppose...

I wish I could buy a house with something cool to find. The best I've managed so far is a knife sharpener, a couple of shelves, and loads of those little plastic stick on hooks, stuck on EVERYWHERE.

If there is power up to that end of the garden, and done properly (which I kind of doubt for your home-made Meth Lab) it would be very useful for when you put a man-cave / studio / home office / Granny annex up there in a couple of years.

It looks like a homebrew rig - Sodium Hypocholorite (aka Milton Fluid) is used as a sterilising agent.

I'm assuming whatever alcoholic filth they produced would have then been distilled to produce a spirit.

I wondered a similar thing a few months ago. On the news, there was a short piece about police responding to a tip-off and were searching the garden of a derelict property, presumably for a body or similar. I figured the tip-off was from someone who was thinking of buying the house and didn't fancy digging it themselves.

No, but to be fair, he did always shovel up the mess whenever she crapped in a field.
