As I am clearly getting old, and with a couple of months of recovering after a failed surgery and emergency tracheostomy, I could do with a new one, not one of the cheap nasty asda type ones either, this place being a bastion of good taste, any recommendations please?

Take a look at Derek Rose...

I've had one of the below for about 3 years and it's a lovely thing.

ETA: Beaten to it by poocherama. Their silk offerings are very pricey!

I got a hooded one from Next a few years back now, lovely and soft, and really warm, it's seen better days now so I may treat myself at xmas (I'm also old) so Next is where I'll be looking first.

The thread I've been waiting for since my old John Lewis one was getting threadbare.

One of the cheap ones ordered.. Rich Velour Multi should now be on it's way to me.

Well done fellas. Who knew, all this from a motoring forum.

I got one from Sainsbury's a couple of weeks ago that is grey, soft material on the outside and beige fleecy material throughout on the inside, along with a hood. It was two sizes too big for me but is probably the nicest dressing gown I've ever had. Just looked on their website and it is out of stock, but it's the "Grey Super Soft Marl Dressing Gown" in the Nightware section of the Tu website.

I got one in red velvet. Not cheap, but it's fantastic and you look like the head meerkat from those annoying adverts (not saying that's a good thing!).

I'm finding the idea of a monogrammed hand-made black/gold dressing gown quite appealing. An early Christmas present to myself I think.

How about just staying in a nice hotel and borrowing a dressing gown? They usually come with a stack of towels and shampoo minatures too.

Having stayed in a Trump hotel, they sell their luxury robes in the hotel shop. Not wanting the Trump embroidery, we bought direct from the wholesaler.

They can embroider your monogram if you like and also ship worldwide.
