We've all heard phrases, such as, "the World is going mad" and "it's political correctness gone mad", well, it got me thinking....just how long has the World been going mad for? I remember people complaining from back in the '80's. At some stage, you just have to concede that it's just a mad World and there's nothing that can be done about it?

That’s how Shakespeare wrote it, just before he did ‘Everybody wants to rule the world ‘

Coherent? Or, possibly more applicable, inchoate?

I just blame the media, hyping things up. reporting on anything bad. little good. And why I do my best to take little notice.

It's true that the vast array of current media outlets, and the expectation for instant reaction and 24x7 coverage leave a huge void to be filled - but bad news is news. Good news is not news.

"Today, life in Kabul went by as normal with nothing unusual happening. Lots of people did their shopping and went to work, then went home again."
Well, that's hardly rivetting lead-item material, is it?

Interesting. scratchchin I never twigged that it was the monkeys who leafed all the trees.
I just thought that leaves grew from buds.

A mad world indeed...

I wonder what Alfred E. Neuman would say about it?
