Selfish inconsiderate people: how would you react?
Discussion
This morning I parked my car ( nothing fancy, just a battered old Focus ) at the furthest end of a row of six cars in a short cul-de-sac track where I have often previously parked without any problem at all for the past 42 years.
The track is not private property, and does not lead to any properties except a flight of steps which lead down to what used to be the car park of a bank ( now closed ) on a lower level.
On returning 30 minutes later, I found that the exit was blocked by a car that had parked beside the first car in the row, thus blocking in all of the six cars behind.
Thinking that the owner must have just parked there for a few minutes on some urgent errand, I waited for him/her to return.
Then I waited some more.... to no avail.
I then called in at the nearby places where the person could be, and asked if anybody owned the [ car make, model and reg. no. ]. I tried at the the nearby doctor's surgery, the adjacent health clinic, the library opposite, a dentists' and nearby houses. No luck.
I returned to my car and waited again. After 90 minutes, I decided that I could be there all day, so I locked up and walked the one and a half miles home, silently fuming.
Late this afternoon, I walked back again to find that the selfish inconsiderate f
g t
t had departed, finally allowing the six cars access to leave. How kind!
Just as well, because I may have done something I would have regretted later on, especially if they had just turned up as I came back.

How can somebody be so arrogant and selfish to think that theit lives are far more important than those of six other people?
That's about 3 hours of my life stolen, that I will never ever get back.
Thanks a million you TWUNT!
TLDR: Person double parks car, and leaves it, preventing 6 others from exiting cul-de-sac, for an indefinite period between two and six hours.

Rounded up eight to ten likely lads from the nearest pub and have the car lifted to somewhere where the council would attend and remove it?
Not many pubs in the area have 8 to 10 blokes in at that time of day. As for shunting it, the wheels were turned at an angle that if shoved, it would have become wedged between the first car and a concrete fence post. Plus I really didn't want to damage my car either.

Smash the drivers window, put in neutral and release handbrake.( Probably manual transmission only.) Would have been justice done!
Not a bad plan, but bending the top of the door back to get in is much worse to fix than a bit of glass.Though if the steering has some lock on (as I see above) you'd need to break the steering lock too. Or jack the front up then push it.
Back in the real world everyone on here would have done pretty much what you did.
Some of the harder PHers might have left a strongly worded note on his windscreen.
Many years ago I returned to my (admittedly not very well parked car) and found a note that read, 'People who park like you should take the bus.' Which I thought was fair play.

I had this one day, parked nicely in a DIY carpark, with my nose against a kerb ((instant PH fail), and some munting witch parks at 90 degrees to my back end, completely blocking me in, as well as the car to my left and right. I'm afraid, in my frustration and anger, I reversed out anyway, and left a shagging huge dent in both the drivers and rear doors. I did leave a note though - to tell the old cow to ride her f
king horse to the f
king back end of f
k county.

Couple of years ago there was a car blocking my drive, none of the neighbors knew who it belonged to. Called 101, explained and they said they will try and contact the owner. 10 mins later, car moved and a call back from 101 asking if the situation was resolved. It was. Never saw who's car it was and i've not seen it parked in the area since.

I have never heard of that facility. What exactly is the name of the department or organisation behind the 101 number, and how do they contact the owner of the obstructing vehicle?
Surely the police or DVLA or the Highways Agency do not have the means to identify the mobile number of the owner of any vehicle reported to them?
Is it run by GCHQ or something similar?
I've just found this information: it seems that calling 101 is not really a viable option in my local area due to lack of resources.
