Over the last few weeks a junkie has been sleeping under my girlfriends Audi Q3. She has just moved to a new flat which came with a parking space. We have spoken to a few neighbours who confirm that he is well known for sleeping under cars.

Unfortunately my girlfriend never noticed him one morning and ended up running him over. She told me that she reversed the car and as she pulled away the car was a little hesitant. She applied more gas and could feel a bump as she drove away. When she looked in her rear view mirror she seen him lying there. An ambulance and the police were called. The guy wasn't too badly injured and appeared back a week later.

A few days later she checked under her car for him and he wasn't there. She was texting so sat for a few minutes. During they few minutes he went back under the car and she didn't notice. She would have ended up doing it again if he hadn't shouted.

The guy seems to think it's somewhere to live because he has a sleeping bag under it and also food and beer tins. My girlfriend told me that she always checks that he is not there and then just runs over his tins and sleeping bag.

She is quite upset by it all and it seems to really get to her. She said she cannot believe she ran him over and that she thinks about it often.

How would you deal with this ? The man is obviously on a different planet.

He'll go elsewhere if it's all wet and sticky under there. Maybe a big bucket of water and some neat fairy liquid squirted over the top. Do that for a few days and I'd have thought he'd move on.

Careful though, if she uses too many deterrents, he might do the old banana up the tail pipe trick!

No, not hers, I'm talking about the car.

hammer a frozen sausage up your girlfriends tailpipe. The resulting stench when it defrosts and goes off will deter the junkie.

Awful and quite a bizarre situation, hope the girlfriend gets over the experience quickly.

Is there something specific that this individual wants? Is it the actual bit of ground or the fact they can get under her particular car?

Run him over. She can't expect to check underneath her vehicle every time she needs to move it.

Retarded enough to get run over once and then come back for another go? Fair game.

Thanks guys. I've not spoken with him yet but I want this sorted for my girlfriend. She is such a lovely person and feels so guilty. She's scared that one day she ends up killing him with her car.

She bought the car because she feels high up and likes that. I already suggested lowering it but she wouldn't have it. The police said they cannot do anything either.

What a silly sod! why on earth would you get under a car that has someone who's about to drive off in it?! A lower car would work, perhaps blowing the horn to scare him might work? Failing that, do you think if you told him to stop it and that she wont be checking for him in future he would understand?

Is it possible to call a homeless persons charity and have them come and put him in a shelter?

At least if she did run him over , he wouldn't be back.

On the second occasion, he crawled back under when the car was running?

As said, pour a load of sticky liquid soap under the car every few days
