For a works Christmas do this year we're going go-karting and then having a curry after. Should be fun despite the company wink

I feel the need to own up to something though, both last year and this year the planning for the event commenced with our office manager sending round one of those Survey Monkey online surveys to get a consensus as to what we should. Both last year and this year's had go karting and ten pin bowling as options along with a few other suggestions but these two things seemed to be the most popular. Last year ten pin bowling won out and I declined to attend as I couldn't be bothered driving the wrong direction from home upon leaving work to do something I'm fairly indifferent about with people who most of which I would choose to go on a night out with. If it were go karting then I would have made the effort as it's something I enjoy.

So this year the survey result was again putting bowling and go karting pretty much with the same level of votes. So I figured out that Survey Monkey only stops you making a repeat vote depending on what device you accessed it from, so I voted from my phone, my laptop at home, etc. possibly skewing the outcome.

Am I going to hell? As it stands it looks like it will be well attended so maybe I just did everyone a favour? biggrin

Can't you just pop to your mother's house with the family and use that as an excuse not to go along?

laugh Suicide might be a better option.

One of my colleagues who I do get on well with put it quite succinctly about how he felt about work dos and said "that he'd rather spend the evening slamming his knob in a door than go to the event". Whether he actually did this or not we'll never know biggrin

I thought it was going to be a drunken liaison with a colleague after rubbing you off while at the bar then some action in the linen cupboard, disabled toilet then in the darkened corner of Bel Air (for those that know the belfry) before retiring to the 12th hole (no euphemism here) bunker to make an attack on the 3rd hole (euphemism intended) lol

Bloody Christmas works night out - A recipe for disaster - The company I work for has one, 400 miles Daan Saaf, they can poke it, Years ago they would expense it, not now,

Now, I am with the Terry Wogan school of thought for the "Self Employed" on that subject. If anyone wants to join me on the 5th Dec, SECC Hydro, that will be my Christmas Doo - Some company would be nice.. wink

Seasons Greetings.

Ours is more often than not in London but we’re back at the Belfry this year - I am not partaking however and will instead be getting lairy and uncouth in Newcastle that evening (not that you’d be able to tell based on surroundings and other merry revellers) ... it does however mean a very swift car journey back north that Friday afternoon after the day meeting(s) to be there for a 7pm commencement

Plus one.
A disappointing post with no swearing or sex in it.

OP, should you manage to have said drunken liaison and a rub off, please remember to get the others consent in writing and every five minutes, with video evidence of consent too along with a witness.

If the other person is a female remember that if she has been near alcohol in the last four weeks you will automatically be guilty of rape/ sexual assault, and in any event, if anything goes wrong it will be your fault.

Probably! smile

I didn’t get invited to the work do last year as I was a contractor and was leaving the week after.

I went anyway after a skinful, pretended to be someone else at the door and went and shook the directors hand and thanked him for the invite.

"How come we have 43 replies from a team of 10 people?"

One place I worked had an evening river boat trip for the Xmas party. In July. Yes, it did finish up as being for two Xmases...

I should add my first christmas do ten years ago I attended, i used to flirt with one of the girls from the birmingham office.

Christmas do arrived, drinks were had, fumbles were enjoyed then I called my dad to get a lift. 5 minutes before he arrived this young lady asked if I wanted to stay the night.

Effectivley my old man cock blocked me and told me that he hadn’t driven all this way to get me and if I didn’t come home tonight I wouldn’t be coming back at all.

Cheers dad.

Plus two.

Years ago my Christmas-Do-Claim-To-Fame was pure class - banging an office MILF up against the Eurobins of an upmarket hotel. biggrin

Back on topic (as I've never done anything vaguely exciting at one of mine), normally I'd frown on the morals of cheating in a survey.

But bowling alleys are noisy, neon temples to Council. So anything is fair game!
