Relative of Mrs Fox told her the following and asked her opinion. now we are really torn over what to tell her to do!

She order a cleaner from Amazon last Monday
got the email saying it was on its way and should be here between thurs and Sat
Also although it said track it. nit tracking details given
Sat in Thus/Fri and late fri got an update..Delivered in Sat

So third day sitting on backside and no delivery

Sent off email asking when she could expect delivery having wasted three days, gtold reply in 4
8 hrs

Yesterday got email saying money refunded !!

Now she is a bit of an honest woman and is worried on what to do should the cleaner turn up!

I am split between telling them to collect it by such a date ,(and if not does it become hers by default?)

or say nothing and get a free cleaner

I think she will go apoplectic on the second, and feel very uneasy about the first

Is there anything else she could consider

The third one is The supplier lied when they said it had been dispatched, but why should they do that?

If/when it arrives, tell the seller and ask them what they want to do about it.

No dilemma.

If turns up, send them an email saying thanks for the cleaner, can you please arrange for it to be picked up at their expense and your convenience. 99% chance they'll say just keep it.

Either way, and assuming that it's a third-party seller and not Amazon themselves, leave the seller poor feedback as that kind of service needs to be recognised.

Hopefully she or someone will be onsite so able to refuse delivery anyway.

It won't turn up, someone in the supply chain has got a new cleaner for Christmas . . .

I've had bottles of spirits and wine 'broken' in transit (all refunded Ok), but they've taken to putting bottles into different size boxes now to thwart the apparent 'breakages' . . .

So she’s ordered something that hasn’t turned up and they’ve given her her money back?
Why is she getting so torn up over it?
If it doesn’t turn up she’s got her money back, if it does then all she has to do is inform them that it’s turned up after all and can she pay for it please.
